ok, i have a beater 89 toyo pickup for haulin shyt around and i'm just now having probs.

It only has 83k on the odometer and yes they are original.When i stat the trcuk, i get a click noise like the starter.But it doesn't turn on unless i continously turn the key.Eventually it turns over but i have to push the gas pedal for it to start.This trcuk is auto an has the 22re 2.4l engine.

I poped the hood and told my bro to turn the key for me.I hear the click noise very loud around the EGR.Also, i placed my hand on the egr and when he turned the key it felt as if the click was comming from there.

Can somebody help me with my problems?

still sounds like could be the starter. get down there and listen to that. That is what happens sometimes. My 94 and have since found many others have had this trouble. the contacts in the solenoid are worn out. pretty easy fix realy, if that is it. I looked for the web page I found that shows it all real well. I cant find it now but if I come across it soon I will post it. but you can do a search and find a couple easy.

Starter seems more the problem, with the key issue. If your starter goes, thousands of electronical problems can be created because its all in the same loop. Get your starter checked.
