Ok the muffler rusted through. Yes, it makes rice boys turn their heads and make funny expressions, but I decided I need a new one.

What mufflers do you recommend? I want to up the power plus make it sound nice, kinda supra-ish.

How do I mount it on the car? There are stock rubber mount thingys, but do I have to weld rods to my muffler to mount it?!? Is there another way? I saw this kind of strap kit at Canadian Tire(a store in Canada), do you guys use this?

Help a beginner pls!

If you keep your stock cat and stock piping changing the muffler isnt going to increase performance at all whatsoever, no matter how much you want or think it will. It also isn't going to be sounding like gold either, no cars so whenever you just put a muffler on, especially a low displacement 4 banger.

and replacing your stock muffler is always better than stock..... if you get a high flow muffler..... it can actually give you a little power..... maybe 1hp if that.

and what the fuck does displacement have to do w/ anything..... stfu... :flipa: just like the other posts..... you aren't helping..

well it depends, if you go looking for aftermarket mufflers to make a deeper and louder "cool" sound, and you find prices are seeming high, also look into cat back systems, they will come with a muffler and it will already have the mounting brakets to fit into the stock rubber mountings. or if you just get a muffler, any muffler shop around you will gladly take it, remove your old one and wled new brakets for those hangers as well as weld it to the piping, or if you tell them to, then can weld a flange on the muffler (and the piping if nessesary) so that it will just bolt on, but dont forget the exhaust gasket, but the muffler shop should put one in there for you.

Put a Thrush on there and buy a muffler hanger for it. It'll give you a cool sound, will be cheap (I paid 24 bucks for a 27" long 2" pipe one) and give higher flow.
