Well there they are, if I missed any that you think should be up there let me know and maybe a mod who sees it can edit the poll. Although it was hard, my vote went to Grand Prix.
For the sake of space (I can only enter 15 on the poll, I have put movies that have sequels together. And I have left one space open if somwbody feels i have forgotten something.
Also the first movie should be Death Race 2000, not 200!

Cannon ball run definitly! those movies were awesome. I mean who else would have thought to put a 454 in an ambulence to evade the cops:D

But you missed something, there were three cannonball movies. The third was called Cannon Ball Run 3: Speed Zone. It was made in like the 80's and it's opening scene is a guy in a 25th aniversary countache running from the cops on some back country dirt roads then it cuts to a dad and his son at a lake and the dads trying to teach the kid to skip stones across the water and says it takes lots of practice. Then the countache comes screaming around a corner and out onto the dock of the lake and just starts skimming across the lake to the other side to escape the cops. Cheezy yes, but damn good:D

You also forgot about Vanishing point and Speed Zone. Speed Zone was so much better than the first two Cannonball movies.

Speed Zone was was the third Cannonball movie. Much better than the first two IMO.

Vanishing Point was about this guy going around racing his 70' Challenger R/T so the cops are after him.

I won't tell you too much about them in case you decide to rent them. IMO they are both great movies.

Most definitly;)

But my previous statement still stands, Speed Zone was the BEST car movie ever! i can still remember watching that as a kid, very fun. I've been trying to find it for about a year now but every place i try has never heard of it, even blockbuster.

What, no mention of Taxi? (The French film, not the sitcom) Or how about the HK film The Legend of Speed? (WRX vs Lancer: mmmmm!)

I dont think that most here have seen Taxi. To my knowledge it only came out in french. I saw it when I was in Japan; so I saw it with french dialog and Japanese subtitles. Still a cool movie though!

Mine is almost stock , i have 2 porsches and this is what takes my mods , anyway i have in the audi only new ecu and clear side blinkers (whoa what a phat mod)... Oh yeah and a chrome rear license frame...
Check the link in my sig for photos...
Ok for the specs:
8 cylinders , discplacement 4172 cm3, DOHC , 4 valves per cylinder
367 Hp by 6600 Obr/min(dyno results)
Torque 430 Nm by 3400 Obr/min(dyno results)
87 hp / liter
Weight around 1750 kg (it would be around 2000 if not the aluminium body)
90L tank (she likes to drink a lot)
Lenght: 5030 mm
Width : 1880 mm
Height : 1420 mm
Acceleration: around 6.3 to 100kph which would give a flat 6 or 6.1 to 60 mph (damn automatic transmission)
Top speed: real-282 km/h (290 on the speedo)

It has 5-speed tiprtonic , when i was buying it i thought that it would be better since i have a porsche to play with , but now i would like the 6-speed more...

As for mods i have in plans:
mtm (http://www.mtm-online.de) exhaust
movit (http://www.movit.de)porsche front brakes
I was thinking of mtm supercherger too , but it think i'll change it for the new model with 6-speed and then put the supercharger in and have 475hp... I dunno , i also like the new A8 W12... We'll see...

No PAL usually donīt work with the US VCRs but to solve the problem we have a region 0 DVD (works world wide) coming out at the end of this month, it will contain both movies and a lot of extra bonus material.

Gran Prix is the one and only accurate depiction of motor racing that does not follow an actual race. The cinematography has yet to be equaled, and the acting was at both times flawlessly polished and perfectly human. The cast of actual F1 drivers will never be matched (Jochen Rindt, Graham Hill, Phil Hill, Denny Hulme, Jim Clark, Bruce Mclaren and many others) and James Garner did all of his own driving in the film, which was filmed at speed. Just the Monaco sequence at the beginning makes Gran Prix worth watching. It is simply, the greatest car movie ever.

The original Gone in Sixty Seconds is second.

A distant third, American Graffiti. That's how street racing should be represented. Plus it's George Lucas when he didn't suck. (KILL JAR JAR)

I vote for entertainment value. From the list above I go with Cannonball Run. The rest were not nearly as fun to watch.

Jeez, I was socialized by the Cannonball Run, Speed Zone & Smokey/Bandit movies. (BTW, if anybody wants the scoop on an upcoming gumball rally...)

Vanishing Point is definitely a religious experience.

Bullitt had its moments, but then again, so did the Blues Brothers - (what do YOU think of every time you walk through a mall?)

The list grows:

- Rendezvous: (aka Getaway in Paris. Got an mpeg of it...mmmm....)

- Stroker Ace: (Burt Reynolds in NASCAR...about as accurate/serious as Days of Thunder, lol. Not a big fan, but some DOThunder & Smokey fans might like it.)

- The Racing Scene: (Very rare, showed on Speedvision back in the day a couple times. James Garner documentary about racing in the '70's. Great footage. Makes Grand Prix look like Cannonball Run.)

Did we already get LeMans? That movie's the best...a DVD buy, no doubt.

I loved BULLITT the movie story was ok, but that chase scene was awesome!! 68 Mustang GT with a 390 ooooooohhhhhh I loved When the guy in the charger noticed BULLITT was following him, and he hit the throttle I love the sound of a good V8, not to mention that Steve Mcqueen was just a total bad ass any ways, he did all of his own driving in that movie he was a professional driver.

I'm gonna say 'Gone in 60 Seconds'. Either one. Both are great. I mean, it's impossible not to love Eleanor, and whoever doesn't should have their testicles removed and donated to some needy family on the west side of town.
And since I loved the 'stang so much in GI60S, I'd have to vote for bullit as well, since they've got almost the exact same car.

I don't know about that, Cyprus. I don't see a lot of visual similarity between a dark green 1967 Mustang GT and a yellow w/black stripe package 1971 Mach 1 Mustang, and that's the real Eleanor. The remake had a nice custom, maybe. But Eleanor did all her own stunts, nothing overlaid with shoddy computer animation. Plus Eleanor didn't have to suffer through Jerry Bruckheimer's worthless choice of camera angles during the chase. I mean, come on, a bumper cam during a doughnut? A first year film student would know better.
