Where is the engine block coolant drain plug? If I'm under the car looking up is it just to the left of the oil pan? Is it a screw that just needs to be removed?
Thanks for the help.

It should be just above and a bit ahead of your oil filter base.
And, I belive that there is one on the other side of the motor same general area.
Why are you pulling block plugs?
I've never once drained the block to replace intake gaskets. Just pull the lower radiator hose if you want to get the coolant level lower.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the verification. I was going to drain the Dexcool and replace with pet friendly green. Man that drain plug is hard to get to so I may have to forget it. If you know, on the 1999 Yukon what MUST be removed to get the intake manifold off?
Thanks for your help.

You'll have to remove the throttle cables, the 4 bolts that hold down the A/C compressor, and then set the compressor over to the pass. side fender well. The fuel lines disconnect at the rear of the intake manifold, the brackets for the throttle cables, and the coil pack, the distributor, a couple sensor electrical connectors, the wiring harness can be hooked up to the hood with a bungee cord. There are a couple other items, but I can't think of each thing.
The order above may or may not be right, I just know what has got to move. We do enough of these that I just rip and tear until I'm looking at the intake manifold.
Hope this list helps.
