Mustang 5.0 tranny on a 3.8

I have a bad transmission on my 94 mustang 3.8. The manual says this mustang has an AODE tranny. I found another one from a 95 5.0 that the guy that has it says it will fit on mine by changing the torque converter. What do you guys think? The manual also says that 94 and 95 automatics have an AODE tranny. What should I do?

its the same tranny, but the 3.8 tranny is probably built a little "lighter-duty". The torque converter may be different as well as the shift solenoids, but im not really sure.

if they're both AODE then they're exactly the same. ford didn't bother building different transmissions for the more powerful engines which is why they suck up so much power. the conversion should work. but hey, if you've got $5000 laying around, just put in a manual!

I would've fixed up my talon.
I'm not a mustang fan...but thats the other car that i have and its cheaper to fix this one. What can I say...thanks alot for the info yeal
