Hi I have a 1991 Camry 4-cyl and wanted to do a flush of my coolant system. I know where the radiator drain plug is but I can't find the engine drain plug to drain the coolant out of the engine. Any information on where it is located would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure where it is on the '91,but if your going to do work on this I would recommend a Haynes or Chiltons manual. It will have this info and alot more.About $15 at any larger parts store.

I have 98 camry 4-cyl, the location of the drain plug is on the bottom of the engine, the left side of the oil pan. I am not sure it is same as the 91 camry.

If oil comes out, you've got the wrong plug. :)

Look just to the left of the oil filter. You may not be able to see it but you should be able to feel it. Put some antiseize on the plug before reinstalling. BTW they are very hard to turn out the first time.

If I'm not mistaken, I do believe they are to the right of the oil filter on the 5SFE, rather than the left.

Teflon tape is an good alternative to apply to the threads of the drain plug.

I can honestly say that I've never thought of using teflon tape on drain plugs, but it actually sounds like something to start doing. Would this be an alternative to Anti-Seize compound, or could it be used with the compound?

The teflon tape is used by itself only when the threads are the sealing surface. If there is a gasket, then use antisieze and no teflon tape.

I see...thanks for the tip Brian...I'm going to have to try that...
