1984 528e a/c not startingRalph Fickett 06-28-2004, 07:11 PM I have a 528e that will not allow the a/c compressor to start when i push in the ac control on the dash. The inside cooling fan starts but the compressor will not activate it clutch. If i jump it out the compressor runs fine and it blows good cold air. We check the a/c charge and it looks good. Can anyone tell me if there are other safties that i maybe over looking? jeffreyb4me 07-02-2004, 09:26 PM okay, ready? power comes from the A/C button through the Evaporator Temp. Regulator [inside the car on the L/S of the 'heater box'], [5 wire connector]. Power in is the green/yellow wire. Power out of it to the HIgh Press. Switch is the black......black/white wire. From the High Press. Switch on the rec/dryer it goes to the Compressor Clutch. Check for B+ @ the High Pr. Swt. 1st with the system on. IF 0 volts, go to the Evap. Temp Reg. checking power in then power out. there's a core temp sensor involved but the usual failure is the contacts of the Evap. Temp. Reg...have fun ! ! csieminski 07-03-2004, 12:09 AM Everyone using this forum ought to make regular payments to you in exchange for your professional background and expertise!! jeffreyb4me 07-03-2004, 12:35 AM YES ! please make your checks payable to my "he wants to take a world tour fund" thanks csieminski.......................................j b. csieminski 07-03-2004, 11:16 AM I'll send mine tomorrow--$4.00--that's all I can afford right now! jeffreyb4me 07-03-2004, 11:43 AM Europe, here I come !.....................................jb. csieminski 07-04-2004, 01:28 AM :bigthumb: If you could get $4 from every AF member, then...that would be different!
