dash insert

alright when i was working on my stereo the other day i had to take out that insert in the dash that goes around the stereo and ac and all that. well the damn thing broke and i just called mitsubshi to see if they have them and they want $116 for that damn piece :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: does anyone have an extra one or know where i can get one cheaper than that cause that freaking blows.

You could mold one out of plastic. I did it with my AC vents for my S-AFC.

how did you do that?

You could try getting a soldering gun and some paperclips. Break the paper clip into little pieces and then melt the plastic with the gun and then put the paper clip pieces in there and melt it all kind of together. That should give it some support. You can then either cover it in a layer of fiberglass and paint it or cover it in a fabric material.
