Putty tools

Hey kids! I've got a question. I'm currently working on my Mugen ITR and I've cut off the stock front bumper and attached the Mugen bumper with solvent based glue and filled in the rest with putty.

I've having a hard time right now building up the area below the headlights and getting it shaped nicely. I think it might be that my tools are lacking. What do you putty masters use for shaping and sanding basic shapes as well as in tight corners.

well, i use wet fingers to mold uncured putty in basic shape, then let dry for a good 6 hrs or so, then i start carving the edges with a sharp exactoknife, then let dry for another 6 hrs, then sand with coarser sand paper, and work till finer sand paper.

more details of use of putty can be found on my post on "the making of Mugen ITR"
