I've got an 89' 735i manual. Anything in particular you want to know? There's really nothing in there that you can't easily find on someone's website. I could scan a page here and there if you'd like. The only thing I find it useful for is programing the OBC. Oh, and it warns you not to rev in neutral or park.

i was meaning to ask what does "rev" mean?
reverse? how can you reverse if the transimission is on neutral or parked?

you know, "rev your engine" e.g. pressing the throtle. The only time it's safe to do so is after the car has been off for 1 minute, and then after started no gears can be enaged (for emission testing, etc.) The manual does not go into detail as to why or say any of that stuff, it just says not to do it. And unless you want to replace your "A" clutch pack, don't do it. Some car might have had a modification such as a hole drilled in the A clutch pack to relieve the presure build up that happens when in park, neutral or reverse. (applies to ZF 4 Hp 22 transmission, but only when mounted to a BMW)

also on a side note: everyone should use or at least try "Amsoil" brand synthetic oil. It out preforms Mobile 1 in every test, by a lot. Look it up, buy it, support it. I'll never use anything else again, what a difference.

Problem with synthetic oils, there are certain chemicals that actually brake down components faster than regular oils and lubricants, such as gaskets, seals, etc. And as a thought, not even race cars of any type or class use synthetic oils before, during or after racing, so why would you want to put it in you BMW? There's a lot of misconceptions out there about synthetic oil. TV commercials don't do justice to the racing world, or your car for that matter, when they say, "The BMW F1 team uses synthetic oil and so should you!" I'm happy with my 10w30 for my '90 750iL, but thanks for trying to take my money! Even though it will out perform Mobile1, doesn't mean synthetic is the way to go. But keep in mind, not even race teams use synthetic oil, why SHOULD you? My dad had an 89 Jaguar Sovereign and the owners manual told him NOT to use synthetic oil in any component of the vehicle and that's a Jaguar...considered to be some what on the same playing field as BMW! And last, but not least, BMW has a recommended oil use for your car. Mine is on the door decal. And if they put that much thought and engineering into a car like this, why would they make a bogus recomendation?

But...it's your car, your preference. Not trying to tell asdf123456 what he should put in his car.

Hello, I started getting a message on the dash board when i start my car saying something about side lights..does it mean my bulb is blown? never got such message before.thanks for ur assistance

First of all, check the light fuses to see if one hasn't blown. One way to find out if it a bulb blew, is to turn on your lights in the evening (at dusk while you still have some light left) or night when you can see every light the best. It might be a good idea to start the car because in BMW's the headlights shut off when the car isn't running. Have somone apply the brakes, signals, and all the other lights so you can check all the lights yourself to make sure they are functioning within proper parameters. Turn on your hazard lights, left signal, right signal, fog lights, rear fog lights (if equipped) and any light that you can think of. If a light is 'out' on one side but 'on' on the other side, you have a blown bulb. If you replace the bulb and no change, try another bulb just in case. Still no change? Consider either loose wiring (check wiring harness to that light pod to see if it maybe didn't come loose) or a blown fuse.

Happy motoring!
