PRELUDE TYPE SH vs.TIBURON GTxlr8r51 06-26-2004, 02:16 AM SPECS Honda Prelude Type SH 4 Cylinder 2.2 Liter 200 HP Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 2.7 Liter 175 HP Which would win and why??????????? joebowlr21 06-26-2004, 02:33 AM *looks around for mod to move this thread to car comparison* You kno xlr, unless these 2 cars have run an you have a story to tell about STREET RACING, go post this where it should be.In car comparison, cuz this sure as hell ain't no street race buddy. carrrnuttt 06-26-2004, 02:49 AM *looks around for mod to move this thread to car comparison* You rang? Janet Reno 06-26-2004, 11:09 AM Prelude would win on the track. The 1/4, if you can even call driving in a line for a few seconds without change a race or a test of a cars abilities, I don't know. kman10587 06-26-2004, 11:57 AM You need to post torque numbers as well as horsepower numbers, those are important. Anyways, the Prelude Type SH should win anywhere without too much trouble. aznxthuggie 06-26-2004, 01:44 PM wow.. 2.7 liter V6 for 175 horses... that was kinda like the honda accord back in 96.. when u think of it.. honda will win.. i mean when u match a celica vs a tiburon its a drivers race.. but a prelude/type r integra/ rsx type s the hondas all win.. not even a challenge Savior1974 06-26-2004, 03:16 PM Actually no. The tiburon will beat the SH in the 1/4 mile. Seen it like 5 times at the races, my girl drives a tib (stock) and she walked a silver SH twice and she walked a 93 prelud with a k20 motor twice. Them I raced a blue prelude SH in her car for 5 dollars and I took him by at least 1 1/2 cars. keep in mind this was only 1/4 mile and I know that she would get stomped on the twistys. the magizines say the tib is a low 15's car. Like 15.3-15.1. Savior1974 06-26-2004, 03:21 PM Car-Stats.com Report for 2000 Honda Prelude SH Obtained from Sport Compact Car April, 2000 0-60: 7.7 1/4 Mile: 15.5 Car-Stats.com Report for 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 Obtained from MT July, 2002 0-60: 7 1/4 Mile: 15.3 1/4 Speed: 91 Additional Information 0-30: 2.4 0-40: 3.7 0-50: 5.1 0-70: 9.1 0-80: 11.8 0-90: 15.1 0-100: 18.4 aznxthuggie 06-26-2004, 03:54 PM kman10587 06-26-2004, 04:24 PM I've never seen a Tiburon keep up with a Prelude... BLU CIVIC 06-26-2004, 04:27 PM why would someone do a K20 swap with a prelude? Savior1974 06-26-2004, 04:32 PM Maybe the ones you seen weren't stock for stock. I'm telling you, she has the V6-6speed stock and she can take em, i took one in her car, even the mags say it can take em. But I think it has the potential to be a drivers race. Hell we even drove test drove an SH because she's getting rid of her Tiburon because it was a lemon (waiting on lemon law papers to go through) and it clearly didn't feel and fast or torquey as the tib. Just go look and the stock for stock 1/4 mile times and you guys will see the Tiburon can and does that the prelude SH. Now the 94 Prelude Vtec................... tib will be owned BLU CIVIC 06-26-2004, 04:35 PM and everyone needs to know...just because it is a Type SH and what not...that doesn't mean it is the fastest stock prelude :disappoin Savior1974 06-26-2004, 04:36 PM why would someone do a K20 swap with a prelude? I don't know but he seemed proud about it, After she beat him, I asked him if he had an h22 and he said "Hell no, I got a k20." The he got out and showed me. I thought to myself "Why in the hell would anyone do that?" Savior1974 06-26-2004, 04:40 PM and everyone needs to know...just because it is a Type SH and what not...that doesn't mean it is the fastest stock prelude :disappoin Car-Stats.com Report for 1995 Honda Prelude VTEC 0-60: 6.7 1/4 Mile: 15.1 Fastest stock prelude, H22Vtec motor will do low 15's-high 14's This will beat the tib but the SH will not, SH stands for a handling package added to a normal prelude. Thats why it will own lots around the twistys, but not in a quarter mile. kman10587 06-26-2004, 05:05 PM Yeah, the 95-96 Prelude VTEC are the fastest out there, and they can run about 15 flat stock. I haven't seen a Tiburon do that, they usually run mid-15's around here. Savior1974 06-26-2004, 06:12 PM true, but he was comparng the tib to the sh, not the vtec. To answer his question, the tib would beat an sh in the 1/4 mile, with equal drivers. kman10587 06-26-2004, 06:15 PM The Type SH is the same as the VTEC, just newer and heavier. But, I see your point. Even so, I think stock-vs-stock a Prelude Type SH would beat a Tiburon GT V6... Savior1974 06-26-2004, 06:27 PM Actually I asked the same question like 2 weeks ago and I'll link you to my thread, http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=234691&highlight=tiburon I think that thread owne will have to go out and see for himself, Test drive them both and choose, or watch a race between them vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
