VW or Honda?OneManTuner 06-26-2004, 12:40 AM I'm seriously looking into a new car right now, but I'm not sure what I want. I plan to tune on this car, so I want some good aftermarket(which would seem where Honda would rule over), but I also want something that will last a good while if not tuned. I'm having this raging debate in my head about what company I shall possibly go for. The Honda I would be tuning would probably be a well-taken-care-of 1987 3Gee Accord. I've done plenty of research on it, and Hondas in general. I can't exactly penpoint a model of VW I would look for, since many of them share the same engine, and I like most all of them... Sorry for the lack of information here. Anyways, with what I gave you, or your own knowledge, which would you go with? ghetto7o2azn 06-26-2004, 12:53 AM if your looking for reliability then u cant really go wrong with a honda unless it was abused A LOT or its really old... and vw isnt exactly known for their reliability jimmy[the]gent 06-26-2004, 12:57 AM if ur lookin for a mid eithtys car u cant go wrong with a toyota tercel or carolla the definition of reliability but tuning and stuff i would go honda it has good reliability too volkswagens in my neighbourghood are for the gay guy that goes biking alot and chicks specialy the golf :] of the two i would go honda Jimster 06-26-2004, 01:04 AM Honda's are irritatingly complex for what is supposed to be an economy car (at least my Prelude was), but they are reliable to a point. For a VW, it depends on where the model was built- if it was built in Mexico or even South Africa (Which no US models are)- walk right away, if it was built in Germany, you're safe, for now. kman10587 06-26-2004, 01:36 AM The Prelude isn't an economy car, it's the sports coupe they used to showcase all kinds of cool technology. The Civic is a Honda economy car, and it's the easiest thing in the world to mod. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
