95 timing belt questionwoodsonj3 06-25-2004, 10:02 AM Does anyone know what the real recommended replacement interval is? I had it replaced at around 70,000 miles because the dealer was running a special. The car now has about 155,000 on it. The engine is the 1.8 liter (7A-FE I think). Thanks. gator2764 06-25-2004, 11:58 AM I believe the change should be done every 70K. You should be able to hear it slapping slightly if it is stretched a little. I went 90K on the second one I had put in my camry. I also had the water pump replaced then. Erndog1369 06-25-2004, 11:44 PM The recommended interval is 60,000 miles. I've only seen a few Corolla belts fail in my 8 years as a Toyota technician. It's a good opportunity to check the waterpump and cam and crankshaft oil seals though, so doing it every 60k isn't a bad idea. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
