I have a 96 civic ex and I installed dual exhaust on it just to make it look good because of the rear bumper. Now I am in the process of installing a turbo on it, is the turbo going to work better or worst do to the lost of compression from the dual exhaust... Should I take the duals out and replace them with one muffler. if you all want to check out the car go to this link http://www.cardomain.com/id/cas4067

How does having a dual exhaust make you lose compression? Not related at all, compression is inside your motor and is not afected by anything on the outside of your motor. What size is the pipes that you are running?

I am purty shure it is 2 1/2" pipe from the cat back... I thougt I was loosing compression because being there are two mufflers now I was getting more flow and I wasent sure if its good for a turbo or not.

You might be thinking about backpressure. Not at all related to compression. Like yellow said.

also does anyone know how many pounds of boos my motor can handel it dy7 its got 82,000 miles runs purty good but it seems to be burning oil ro something i added 2 1/2 quarts since last oil change 2000 miles ago but I am in the process of taking it to a shop i think it might be the valve seal (weird though the car aint even broke in yet) need to get it fixed before the turbo gets droped in also anyone know how to hook a apc fuel gauge the gauge had 3wires white, green, and black, but my o2 sensor has four wires, white, green and 2 black????

having the dual exhaust isnt really going to help you becuase you are still going to have back pressure at your cat

you should make sure you get the oil burning problem fixed before get your turbo installed 2 1/2 quarts is a lot in only 2k miles

if you added 2.5 quarts of oil in 2000 miles by the time you put your kit on you will be pulling the motor out cause its blown up. Damn, your car has only 82,000 miles on it...u sure its not 182,000? Can help you on the fuel gague (im assuming you mean air/fuel?) The gague didnt come with instructions. I assume you tap all the wire that match up and the 2 blacks are grounds....just see which one it is.

your air fule guage has three wires one goes to the voltage output/ signal wire from your oxygen sensor the other two are power and ground generaly on hondas 4 wire oxygen sensors ther the signal wire is green but just to be shure hood up a multimeter and youl will be looking for power bouncing between 0 and 1 volt

The A/f meter would usually have a power, a ground, and a signal (O2 sensor), like RPMtuner said, but I wouldn't go through the trouble of running the wires outside your car to the O2 sensor when you've got one already ran for you, I'd hook it up closer to the ECU, if you've got a chiltons manual it will be easy to figure out what wire it is, you can just look in the wiring diagram section and it'll tell you what slot its connected to, then you can just splice and have everything contained inside your car. IF you don't have a chiltons, you might be able to find a wiring diagram on the internet, goto google and see what you can find. The other two wires just need to goto 'a' power and 'a' ground, not necessarily the ones from your O2 sensor, in fact I wouldn't hook them up to the same ones, its more trouble than its worth.

why don't you save your money n buy a real car. having a civic is nice, i guess(save u gas money) but there are not ment for turbos, superchargers n what ever else you want to do cause later u'll run into problems. with all that money ur spending you could be buying a real sports car. a civic will aways be a civic no matter what u do to it.

THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT!!!!

that air/fuel gague you got is about as worthless as sandpaper toilet paper. My boy had one of the "regular' narrowband o2's and all it does is tell you if you go real rich or real lean....u need something that is gonna tell you your air/fuel in numbers......cheapest one's I have found are about $350.....www.plxdevices.com

you can save your self the trouble of running the wire out side if you want but you a/f reading will be more acurate the closer you get to the 02 sensor

just conect the power to a switched 12 volt signal and ground the other wire. for the O2 sensor signal, connect it directly to the ECU O2 sensor signal wire. to get a wiring diagram of your ECU, go to www.apexi-usa.com. click on the menu, then click on documentation, then click on "auto timer" wiring. find your cars ECU and the corresponind O2 senor wire
