F23A1 engine swap

Forgive my ignorance here - a little new to the whole swap idea... I have a 99 Accord Sedan with an F23A1 engine, and am looking to swap for something with a little more gusto (140 hp? Please....). Lost on what will/will not fit without rebuilding the entire front end. Looking to install turbo/NOS down the road (in quest of + or - 300 whp), but would like some punch in the meantime. Would an H22 work at all? If not, what would be the logical choice to pursue?

the swap is pretty common. u can achieve 300hp w/ a F23 (properly done and tuned right). and u will save money by just turbocharging the F23, then swaping a H22 and turbocharging that. if u want to talk about turbocharging ur F23 go on http://board.hondasociety.com/. alot of guys there have turbocharged 6th generation accords.

Thanks, Racer... Just joined the forum, and will post questions there as well. One thing has crossed my mind in the meantime - A 50-shot of NOS is doable right now, but am worried about the possibility of blowing the rings/head gasket/cylinders... Some tell me to replace the camshaft, pistons, rods, rings, etc., beforehand...others tell me that the stock ones are strong enough to handle it and not to worry. Thoughts? (car currently has all-stock engine with 85K miles, never driven above 4K RPM - or 120 MPH)

I have only seen a hand full of h22a accords in the 6th gens. In fact, I can only think of about 3 people who have done it. Maybe I've been hiding under a rock for a few months, but I don't think it's at all common in the 99s. Now, the previous generation, and the one before that....yea, common as anything :)

You'd be fine with a 55-65 shot of nos on stock internals. Just make sure you change to iridium plugs and always run 93+ Octane. You should really run the 93+ like a month before you install it. CHeap way to go to get your little umphh.....Zex makes a decent kit and there easy as hell to install. Management system makes sure your air/fuel mixture is safe for your engine.

I am getting a 93 civic and I had thought that I could put the f23a1 in to that and spank all the sohc 1.6 with all the goodies intake headers exhaust pulley now i am finding out about the nos on the stock internals. would it be a waste of time or should i proceed

y not spank other SOHC 1.6L's with ur stock engine. it would be better than putting an F23 in ur engine. do u have an EX or Si?? and to the guy saying theres not to many H22 powered 6th gens, its not that ur living under a rock u might not have seen that many 6th gen H22 accords. ur right there are alot more 4th & 5th gen h22 accords. but i still see a fair share of 6th gen h22 accords. and 4th and 5th gen accords are easier to to modify than 6th gen b/c they are cheaper.

I have a dx 92 civic and I live in va where there are alot of sohc 1.6. I just wanna act like I have one too and the blow right by them. I hope that a 60 shot of nos will not ruin the f23 because that would give me a good chance against the gsr and h22. how much horses do you think I could pull out of the f23 with mods like intake, cam, exhaust, pulley and nos? I need someone to let me know because I wanna be able run with the dohc and have a chance to beat them.

i dont understand y u would spend so much money to swap in a SOHC F23 in your civic. i had alot of expierience with this engine becuase i used to own a 98 accord lx a few years ago. its a low emissions engine that most 6th gen accord owners dont even want in there accords. the only real advantage to this swap is the large amount of torque. but if u want to be original then i would swap a K20 or K24 engine in ur civic. hasport just came out with a swap kit for 4th & 5th generation civics.

I have a 99 honda accord w/a JDM H22A motor and a RevHard turbo kit on. The shop that put it all in for me kind of messed up, i dont know what they did wrong, but my engine is blown and i am in the process of replacing the pistons and the rings as well as the complete wiring harness of the car.
Once its tuned, with 550cc injectors, it should be running well around 350hp. Its a nice setup, but trust me, it is a lot of money, and if you want to have someone do it right, its going to be a lot more. Your better off just building up the motor you have now, and turboing it. It will still be really fast. Thats what i should of done if i knew this was going to happen. I havent driven my car in about 9 months now. Sad...

The 99 Accord Sedan comes with a 2.3L 150hp engine, unless it's a DX...Why want a 140hp?
