'93 Bonne SSE w/sc starts fine then dies

All of the sudden the car would not start in the parking lot. I left in there came back the next day and it started fine. Got it home (4 miles) took it out next day and it died in about 2 minutes. I have tried the module under the coils and bought 1 new coil (tried in each slot) and have not made any headway. It seems that once something warms up it dies or after the choke(?) turns off it dies? HELP!

'would not start'

was it cranking over and not firing, or was it not even cranking? or maybe just starting then dying?

It cranks over and acts like it is flooded. If I step on the pedal it will try to run (like half the plugs are not firing).

heh, have you had the fuel pump replaced? if not, get it checked.

notorious for going bad on 3800 engined cars

had to replace mine last summer, because its in-tank, cost me $400 :banghead:

No I haven't. I have 196k (120k are mine) and the only fuel problem is taking right turns under a quarter tank (on gauge) and it runs out of gas until I go straight... Sound like a trip to the garage for that. thanks!

I think that it mite be the crank sensor have you check that

If you have a scan tool, try plugging it in to the diagnostic plug. Drive it around for awhile (maybe a few days), and if it doesn't act up you have a bad computer. This is EXACTLY what happened on my 92 SSE and it took forever to figure out because every time we plagged in the scanner it ran fine and wouldn't do anything wrong
