Looking to swap 5.2 V8 for something a bit leaner - ideally a 3.9 mag. Is this a straight forward swap or with this turn into a can of worms. will the stock tranny bolt up or will I need to get something else. In an ideal world what would you do (sans purchacing a new truck)

Thanks

David

Bad idea. Please don't do this.

That 3.9 will burn about as much fuel as that 318, and it will only have less power. Same fuel mileage and no power to show for it. I don't recommend this.

The 3.9 has these "boss" ear type motor mounts, and won't swap in place of a smallblock Mopar V8 without modifications being made. It's sickening really because it just makes things that much harder for someone who wants to take his 3.9 out and put something else in.

If you really want to do this, yes a stock tranny will bolt up.

Don't do it.

Want better gas mileage? Ride a bicycle. :)
