help cutting doors?

i'm trying to figure out how to cut the doors out of my celica so that i can do the vertical door conversion, but the way it's set up, it seems like you can't cut them. there is a post in the front of the rear quater windows that sits on the door in front of the groove they have as marking the rear of the door (am i making sense?). i don't think i can add pics becuase the forum says i can't ass attachements. can anyone with experience on this tell me where i should cut? TIA

something i forgot: i got ahead of myself and cut out the hood before i realized that there is no engine with this model. does anyone know if they sell one or what a good conversion would be based on fit?

You'll probably have to do a bit of scratchbuilding to get that to work.

What I would do is cut at the base of the b postand cut the door out. Then, you will have to connect the bottom of the b post with the top of the rear quarter panel with a small piece of styrene.
After you do this though, the door wont fit anymore so you'll have t thin that top corner of the door till it fits and closes snug.
That little added piece of styrene will also ensure that the door doesn't close too far inwards if you thin the door right.

Well, I know nothing about cutting doors, but, If you can get your hands on a TAMIYA supra, you should be able to hack up parts of the undercarriage, and engine to put in the Celica, a RWD celica...nice.. :icon16:

that's a good idea. but i am trying to figure out how to make my big celi AWD. was there a supra that was AWD or am I thinking of something else?

Styrene is a material to make a plastic product.
Some people use them interchangeablly. styrene sheet, plastic sheet, styrene rod, plastic rod etc.
You can find the 3S-G engine from the other Tamiya's Celica kits. I think SS-II has the non-turbo and GT-Four has the turbo-charged one.
