Quiz TimeRaz_Kaz 06-21-2004, 06:05 PM Can anyone guess what's so special about this WRX??? http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v293/raz_kaz/untitled.bmp flylwsi 06-21-2004, 06:16 PM i don't know where i saw that before, but it's got a supercharger and turbo on it... Raz_Kaz 06-21-2004, 06:17 PM /\ Your correct!!! flylwsi 06-21-2004, 06:18 PM of course i am... was there a question? ;) Raz_Kaz 06-21-2004, 06:22 PM what was done to it, but I heard that the setup was no good.... flylwsi 06-21-2004, 06:25 PM i don't know much about it, just saw pics... i imagine that it's not set up as optimally as possible. and honestly, even on a high boost wrx like that, the lag isn't that bad. it sure doesn't warrant that much extra time/money under the hood... lazysmurff 06-21-2004, 06:46 PM SCC is thinking about doing the same thing to a mini cooper S....should be interesting Raz_Kaz 06-21-2004, 06:58 PM these people need to donate me some money turbo2nr 06-21-2004, 07:27 PM yea i think its called twin caharing.. super street did it way back in 02 on a type-r it made 472whp.. it was great but soo unrealibe.. i even read tha greddy was trying to develop a kit like this for production but it fell off b/c of realibility issues.. 1 SpaceManSpiff 06-21-2004, 08:33 PM In the original USCC in SCC, (Ultimate Street Car Challenge in Sport Compact Car for the uninitiated), there was a twincharged first gen mr2. it pulled 338 hp and ran a 13.09, but apperantly there were serious problems with the switch from sc to turbo at 3500 rpm and it didn't get good power again till 5000. PWRDbyUNCLEbens 06-21-2004, 09:20 PM I think i'd have a sensory orgasm if I heard a turbocharger and supercharger at the same time :naughty: too bad they're having so much trouble developing a reliable system. Fully_Sick 06-22-2004, 02:29 AM if you want to go the turbo-supercharger route, you should check the Nissan March Super-Turbo!! http://home.iprimus.com.au/jverban/ek10b.jpg JekylandHyde 06-22-2004, 06:18 AM There is "twin charged" MK1 MR2 that has gone 11s in the US. It was featured on the cover of Sport Compact Car years ago. Turbo Magazine recently did a built up of MK2 MR2 and they installed a V6 with a supercharger and turbocharger. Twin charging is a wonderful (albeit expesive) solution to turbolag and superchargers running out of breathe. They compliment each other. what about twin turbos and a supercharger? ...there is always this beast: http://www.boostcruising.com/database/madcarphotos/files/Nathan20030513115352madcarfile1.jpg Raz_Kaz 06-22-2004, 09:47 AM /\ I just orgasmed  CarSuperfreak 06-22-2004, 10:08 AM o0o0o lookie what i found: In a Porsche 928 http://www.thedeathknight.com/928/928_Dual_Superchargers.jpg flylwsi 06-22-2004, 11:49 AM two superchargers on a motor isn't uncommon. the rb26dett/sc that was posted won't fit in a skyline, it's been gone over quite a bit. super street didn't twin charge the teg, meguiar's did. the mr2 came stock twin-charged, and is one of the only vehicles that did it well... i've seen others, mainly v8's that have both, but it's a bit of a waste. you can build an engine either way and get what you want, too much work to get both done right. JekylandHyde 06-22-2004, 12:30 PM the mr2 came stock twin-charged The MR2 never came twincharged. In 88/89 it had a supercharger option. HKS offered a twincharger kit for the 88/89 SC MR2s. flylwsi 06-22-2004, 12:45 PM well, there ya go. it's the only car, though, that i've seen twin-charged well... (as a mass-produced kit) landyacht 06-22-2004, 12:51 PM /\ I just orgasmed :grinno: these people need to donate me some money You and me both my man. of course i am... was there a question? LOL, flywsi i never tire of your posts...always insightfull! :iceslolan vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
