tranny is donewhtcivic93 06-21-2004, 12:37 PM yeah well my tranny is done.. i think they said somthin about the main rod bearing... should i replace it or swap? $2000.00 to replace it and probably what 4000 to swap? Miataracer 06-21-2004, 03:26 PM main rod bearing? $2,000 to replace a tranny? CRAZY! there are no rod bearings in a tranny, that is in the enigne. I assume you have the stock drivetrain in your car? those transmissions are NOT hard to find, look on www.car-part.com you should be able to get a tranny in there for a lot less than $2,000 and put it in yourself while you're at it whtcivic93 06-21-2004, 09:41 PM cool.. thanks Miataracer 06-21-2004, 11:22 PM dude, I am lovin the fed ex-ups pic in the sig! lol whtcivic93 06-21-2004, 11:31 PM lol thanks... yeah it wasnt the rod bearing i got confused its the input shaft bearing... is there no way to replace it without having to just trash the whole tranny? Miataracer 06-21-2004, 11:33 PM not sure I have only torn apart miata trannies, but the one thing i do know is that internal transmission work is expensive and a junkyard tranny would proy cost a lot less whtcivic93 06-21-2004, 11:50 PM ok so its not worth tryin to fix this one... time for a b18 swap! i was waiting for somthin to go wrong so i would have reason.. well here it is Miataracer 06-22-2004, 12:21 AM haha there ya go, i got my whole swap for $500 more than you were quoted to fix your tranny! Ricochet 06-22-2004, 01:29 AM You can find a perfectly working tranny from a junkyard for $300.. don't let those cockfuckers bend you over like that. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
