i need help with my windshield

ok... so i have a Tamiya Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM 2000 Team D2 model and i was painting the windshield and wen i pulled off the masking tape some of the paint got on the part of the windshield that is suppposed to be clear... what can i do to get it off? could i use Tamiya paint thinner to get it off or will that be visible wen i finish with it? o yea, i used Testors enamel paint

I usually use a toothpick with a bit of tamiya compound on it, just keep dipping the toothpick into the tube collecting a tiny bit of compound at a time & rub the paint off very gently. If you scratch the windshield then you can continue the procedure with a tiny cotton rag instead of the toothpick. Then polish up the windshield with Tamiya wax.

DONT USE THINNER!! It will fog the plastic and make it alot worse than with paint on it.

i think its better for you not to gamble urself using toothpick.. just use cotton buds and use the compound.. it will help better.. but if ur thinkin to repaint.. i hope u know what to do.. just remember not to scratch it.. once its there... then u will sleep in tears looking at the ugly mess :)

Compound is a very fine abrasive paste that various companies make for polishing paints and plastics.

could i use toothpaste? i read that on another thread

Toothpaste isn't the ideal thing to use, but you could use it if you're very careful.
Toothpaste is a little more abrasive than compound so you want to keep it wet the whole time with water.

Remember to work carefully and slowly.

i keep the windshield wet while i work with toothpaste?

also if i use toothpaste how long to i have to work with it? its just a little paint in the top left corner of the windshielf (i would show a picture but i dont have a digital camera)

alright!!!!! i fixed it... and then i got caried away and started fixing my other models :biggrin:

the toothpaste worked pretty well... i think i should have done it wen i messed up... 24 hours ago...

Toothpaste is great, I have used it to take small scratches out of alot of things, in fact i think my watch face is more toothpaste then glass.
