Hi - I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not Honda made a 6th Generation Accord coupe in the V6 with a manual transmission because if they did, noone sells them. Thanks alot - Tim

also - if the answer is no, should I sacrifice the manual transmission to get the extra power of the V6 (essentially should i get the 2.3 in a manual or the 3.0 in automatic)

feel free to IM me on AOL/AIM on the screename bigsexay1313 with your answers

Thanks again guys (and/or girls) peace

The answer is no. All 6th generation Accords with a V6 engine were standard and only available in autos. Only the 7th generation V6 was available with a manual. The only manual tranny that bolts up to a 6th gen V6 in found in the last model Acura legend 5speed.

I went with the 4 banger cause it's available in a Manual, much lighter, No tranny problems, and better gas mileage. The only downside is the lack of hp (50 less) and the lack of torque (40 less)

6sp manual out CL-S and 7gen accord are much easier swap into 6gen AV6, but has side effects, no speedometer and odometer.

Sorry, but that's not correct. The closest manual tranny that will fit a 6gen V6 accord is fron the Acura Legend. 7th generation Accord and Acura CL-S will NOT bolt directly up to a 6th gen accord Engine. It's possible, but not cost efficient. Hell, the tranny and all the needed hardware from the CL-S & 7th Gen accord can run from $6K to $10K. That's not including modification and labor. The Acura Legend's Manual Tranny (87-92) Bolts right up to the Accords Engine with very little modification.

Dude are living in past.

CL-S 6sp tranny are rare, but you can get it for as low as $1500, budy of mine was thinking to swap 6sp tranny in his 00 CL 3.0 and he found one for $1500. it's direct bolt-on, only one mount have to moved half of inch.

legend tranny wasn't really bolt-on, holes on tranny and engine didn't quite match up, Legend has C block and accord has J block. differential was in such location that you couldn't used accord axles, therefore whole engine had to be moved few inches to driver side, which translates into modification of all engine mounts. and list goes on and on.
