I have a 1965 baja bug, its a serious custom. Its got an 1835, with dual port, which I just replaced the heads on, except now I'm not getting anything out of cylinders 1 and 3, the two closest to the front of the car. I had previously replaced my ignition wire because it was bad, and I replaced the cap/rotor/points/condensor.(in case that matters)
I checked all 4 spark plug wires, and they appear to be giving spark to the engine. I pulled the plugs, and they were wet, indicating fuel, and they were gapped correctly.
The timing order is 1-4-3-2, to my understanding.
spark plug gap: .025
valve gap: .006

So what's my problem? why am i getting ignition only on 1 and 3?

Ignition timing is 1-4-3-2, but the cylinders are 1 - front left, 2 - front right, 3 - left rear, 4 - right rear. If you got 1 and 3 in the front that may be your problem. Clark
