I was on my way home tonight and ran into a sentra se-r. He had been following me awhile as be both got on the freeway. It didn't take long before he tried to pass me. I saw him drop it a couple gears and then switch lanes to try and get past me. Once I saw this, I dropped it to third also. He caught up to my back bumper before I started pulling on him.

After I shut it down he passed me going a little bit above the speed limit. I followed him as he got off on the next exit. Once we were off the freeway I pulled up next to him and asked if he wanted to pull over. So we both pulled into an empty parking lot and talked for about 5 minutes. His car was clean, it was lowered with some nice motegi rims on it. Everything else was completely stock. So I asked if he wanted to go from a dig. He agreed and we were off again.

He said he had a good spot to race, so I followed him there. Once we got there I pulled up next to him and he said honk 3 times and we'll go. We ended up doing 3 runs at that spot.

FIRST RUN: I got a better jump than him and pulled over half a car in 1st gear. I pulled about a car length in 2nd gear and then shut it down about mid-way through 3rd gear, which I ended up being about 2 and 1/2 car lengths ahead.

SECOND RUN: He missed his 2nd to 3rd gear shift so we threw that race out.

THIRD RUN: He got a better jump than me this time, but I caught up and we were about even in 1st gear. 2nd gear I pulled a car length on him and then kept on pulling through 3rd.

I would have to file that series of races under the #1 spot in my street racing experiences. The guy was hella cool, after the races we both gave the thumbs up and final compliments on eachothers cars and went our seperate ways.

NICE!

I love when you run into some really cool people...it really makes this a great sport to be in when all things are accounted for and addressed.

Great job on the kills, keep the stories coming!! :bigthumb:

doesn't really matter, he beat him as i would expect if it was the newer ones, though he might have a few bolt ons 97tsi has the same and a b/c.

It was the older body style, think it was a '94. Sorry about that.

I agree, too bad there isn't more people like that.

Good kill man.

Just so you know, if it was a '94, that was the first year they put the "low-port" SR20DE's in the SE-R's with a milder cam (emissions reasons). My stock intake cam would be a "mod" for that car. The 94's are also heavier.

Hmmm....I never caught what year it was from the guy. It looked a lot like this one at this link, even had the fog lights in the front

Here's a 94 front-bumper (better pic from what you linked to):

If it had that front-bumper, then it was 94.

Here's my 92's front-end:

It's hard to tell, but after looking at those pics you just posted, I think it was a 92. Do you have a pic of the back end's of those cars, that actually might help better being that I never got a chance to look at the front end in the light. I only saw that back half of the car in the light of the parking lot.

Haha, try as you might, Carrrnuttt, but the 94's are still faster! :p The cams might be less agressive, but the combustion technology is improved to make up for the difference and then some with equal hp and a slightly smoother torque curve. 91-93's run a 16.2 stock. 94's run a 15.8.

That's a long, and ugly debate that's been going on in the SR20 forums for too long: http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread.php?t=9386

Here's a re-cap of the poll, and how it stacks up:

My own personal accomplishments with my 1992 speak for itself. Take a look around the forums.

I see, I see how it is. Well ok, you win. Either way, I'm happy with a high 14-second car that has 3 mods. :p Best kill to date would have to be a G35 Sedan. Damn good race!

Well, I have a 15-flat (potential high-14) car with basically 1.5 mods :p (I don't count the cone-filter as full-mod, unless it was connected to a tube that gets it out of the hot-ass engine-bay).

So there.

Yea....his profile says he lives in 98203 - Everett area...I had no idea 'cause I've only seen him post once.

But you're right, we need to figure out who's up in our area and set a date for footage. Maybe the mods wouldn't care if you posted a thread asking who all lives near us....Just a thought.

thing is there are probably people who don't post in here who live in our area, i don't know, well see :)
