Hi

We're currently trying to replace the air filter in our 98 voyager (grand caravan, extended or something like that).

We cannot seem to open the compartment housing the air filter (dont know what it's called, it just says open to replace air filter)

Is there any specific point to release it? Any catch or something to take it off? We tried prying, felt over it for a release, and we're stumped. :banghead:

You think they'd make these things a little easier...

If it is similar to the one on my 97 T& C van on the side next to the radiator there are two clips that must be released in order to get the housing open. You will be able to do this easier if you take a nut driver and remove the intake tube from the throttle body. Once you have done this there are two tabs that slide in on the other side of the box. Pull slightly toward the engine and the cover should come off easily. I hope this helps. May not be the exact same thing as the one I had but may put you in the right direction.

PS. There are also two bolts on the radiator support that you must remove as well.

You think they'd make these things a little easier...you need 2 take the part off that says remove then the air filter is in the compartment below and 2 the right of it. remove the bolt from it and it comes right out.

I really appreciate this info. I was banging my head against the wall trying to figgure out how to get the "air filter housing" open. It would have been really nice if Chrystler would have printed something like "This is not the air filter housing. remove this and look below to find the REAL air filter housing." or some such.

Anyway, thanks again!.
