FlowMaster on a 4.3V6???Chevy_girl00 06-16-2004, 12:57 PM I have a 2000 Silverado V6 4.3 litre and wanted to know what the flowmaster would sound like if i got it... i don't want it to sound like a fart can, like some little cars can sound sometimes. i know it's not gonna have a deep mellow rumble like a V8 would but would it sound good? anybody have this on their truck?? pls help!! ;) Shortbus 06-16-2004, 02:42 PM The V6 you want to go with a 40 Series. The shop should know the correct size of pipes to use for your application and whether or not you go with dual out or single out. Chevy_girl00 06-16-2004, 02:47 PM somebody told me that if i get dual out then its gonna be a waste of gas since i only have a V6. is that true?? or could i get a dual without any loss of HP or worsen gas mileage??? Shortbus 06-16-2004, 02:57 PM The dual out is fine as long as they don't put to large of diameter pipes on. And yes I did notice a decrease in fuel economy but I was only getting 17mpg anyway. Look into Gibson exhaust, go to Stillen.com and check out the single catback they are cheaper than what I payed for my custom job with a flowmaster. huminski 07-07-2004, 10:44 AM I had the 3" inlet / dual 2.5" outlets on my S-10 with the 4.3 before I got the silverado. It sounded really good, I was totally suprised. At idle and low RPM's it definitely sounded mean. If it was sitting there idling you would think it was a V8, I had more than a few people ask me if I did the engine swap myself. :D I would pop the hood and show them the V6 and they would be suprised. Really liked that truck... :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
