My 5.8 liter failed emissions with too much gas from the injectors. I've put in some injector cleaner, but have not run through a tank of gas yet, so I'm waiting for that to take effect.

Just looking for suggestions on injector cleaning to pass emissions.

ok, it might not be the injectors though. The pcm module uses the oxygen sensors to judge how lean or rich to make the injectors. If you have over 80K miles on your o2 sensors, try replacing them and i bet you will pass emissions. If still not, do a full tune up ( plugs wires feul filter air filter) that can help also. As for injector cleaner, used either marvels mystery oil or seafoam, they are the only ones which have a real effect.

Might want to check and see if your engine is running too cool. If you have a superstat thermostat and its bad it will get stuck in the open position and the engine wont warm up, causing ineffecient fuel consumption.

I had the same problem with my truck its a 93 with the 302. I replaced the oxygen senser didnt help.I went on with mine running rich for some time. Finally I went ahead and replaced the coolant temperature senser, 20 dollars, it worked. Just screws in above the thermostat. have to drain and add a little coolant though. This may be a easy fix for you. If not the part is cheap enough to try.
