it can be used but will only hurt performance

because it will actually restrict air flow just like how with a turbo you lose a few psi across the intercooler, same effect will happen with na air pressure. so even think about doing it

A common misconception about intercoolers is that we use them simply as a power adder. The truth is that intercoolers are intended to help reduce the risk of detonation. Added power is simply a side benefit. An intercooler would be useless on an N/A car and actually will hurt the performance as civickiller said.

and if you are inquiring about this on mearly a cosmetic basis ( for looks ) then you would be much better off getting a larger front mount oil cooler and you can find these in any performance catalog...will give teh same silver-fin apperance as an IC but will actually be usefull

ya intercoolers are used to reduce the temperature of the intake air to near ambient temperature. In a turbo car this is helpful because the intake air is heated. But in an NA car the intake is already at ambient temp.

lol 98 integra alot of car's come stock with oil coolers mounted before or behind the radiator. does your coolant get cold from getting direct air to it?

man i really like this guy. he always is really into his opinion and doesnt give a shit about others feelings. thats just how i am. seriously a while ago all we used to see in threads was "hey dont tell him what to do, its his car and his money" and it made me sooo angry. stop babying these people and save them from making stupid decisions. everyones opinions are developed from past experiences and things they have heard. so that means tell them what to do or what you would do and see if it may sink in and save the rest of us from these stupid rice rockets.

oh and btw a huge oil cooler on an essentially a stock motor will be bad. oil needs to reach a certain temperature to lubricate internals properly and to evaporate the moisture that buils up in it.

there's a difference between having an oil cooler to serve it's purpose and having an oil cooler to imitate an intercooler. it's like having a fire extinguisher and hooking up fake tubes to it to imitate a small nos bottle. a brake disk rotor behind a wheel cover. etc.

yes i know that but they are not the size of an intercooler they are a lot smaller. if you had one the size of and intercooler like they said it would be to big and the oil would get to cold
