now i've never even heard of one of these, let alone seen one, being in the UK, of all the shows and magazines i've read...nothing.
now i've been looking at a 1973 AMC Javelin SST, in white, black interior, with 5litres of V8...running!:D drives, but the bodywork is in a bad state. (not a problem as i'm a panelbeater)
now i know it looks like a bit of an ugly duckling but is this car a classic? a classic muscle car? are they sought after? what are they worth when in good condition or restored?
i think i may buy it as the price is tempting, but are parts easy to obtain or are they hard to find?
cheers!

Mechanically, Javelins are easy to find parts for. AMC products have a strong following in the States, especially the Javelin/AMX models. The 5.0L (304cid) V8 was used by many AMC products for many years.
Search the web for "American Motors Owners" club...I'm sure there are websites out there for them. AMC people will be more than happy to help you out.

It will never be worth a lot money-wise. But they are muscle cars, and hence can be considered a bargain.

i'm getting it!
it'll be a few months before it'll back on the road though. needs major body work. running great though. won't be a full resto, just the bodywork and tidying up the interior. (mould!) looks as though it's been unused for a good few years! :(
it'll be great though, terrorising the neighbour hood and cruising with the growling V8. annoying the elderly as i drive by! (shaking their sticks at me!):D bet in the US, no one bats an eyelid as everyones got a V8! but here in the UK, oh what fun lies ahead!;)

Even here its rare to see a muscle car in the street. But in England, you're going to be a celebrity!
