Dana Identificationxj4x4 06-09-2004, 07:47 AM My 1988 XJ has a factory trailer hitch installed, so evidently it has the towing package. From what I've gathered, the towing package came with either a Dana 44 or Dana 35 rear - How do I tell what rear end I have tucked under the rear of my XJ? TIA! JeEpBoY95 06-09-2004, 08:28 PM towing package or not an 88 should have a 35 but you can make sure by checking the tag on the rear of the pumpkin which is usally covered in dirt it will say 35 or 44 JKooshTJ 06-19-2004, 12:46 PM I have an 88 Cherokee Pioneer w/the towing package and it has a Dana 35.
