1/4 time of a 04 V6 Mustang?

Raced my friend's V6 04 stang last week, first light I got him (he said I got a headstart). Second light he got a headstart, tired gripped good and got ahead of me. Both times we were pretty much nose to nose. Wondering what the average 1/4 mile time of a 2004 V6 mustang is?? I did a search but only GTs and older mustangs came up. Me and him will go at it again in the near future. (BTW I own a 95 240sx)

yea they are slow... i'd say even with a 5 speed they only run mid 15's... lol elevation rapes cars.. if i lived that high up i wouldn't even race lol sucks when your sports car is a as fast as a minivan...

80's turbo caravans can run 12's for a short time 100% stock + boost controler, lot cheeper then your cobra. i guess teh minivan comparison sticks to you too

well technically it wouldnt really matter because all the other cars you race would be at a disadvantage too.

well no it wouldn't matter but just the thought that your car is that much slower blows my mind... ppl aren't getting the effect of there cars so why bother is the way i see it...

i dunno about that 12 second minivan deal with just a boost controller... i think with all stock, given the exception of high boost, it will blow before it will see a 12 second pass.. look at it this waym minivans weigh a lot and are very slow stock.. they have to make up 5 seconds in the quarter mile.. MY buddy has a 2100lb civic hatchback with a turbo LS/Vtec swap with 341 WHP.. his best track time to date is 12.7 with a 2.0 60FT with drag radials.. not sure how much boost he is giving it, but i remeber it being a lot... so if a 2100lb car with 341 whp has a tough time making 12's i know a minivan can't do it weighing twice as much and starting off 3 seconds slower...

I just took my stock 2003 GT to the track for the very first time this past weekend. My best time was 15.2 (keep in mind I am new and it was my very first time). What kind of times should my car be running?

should be faster than that. manual or automatic? if it's a manual you probably need to adjust your shift timing.

was ita hot humid day? that could make for slower times... I hope your broke your car in well cause you can gain hp from a good breakin not to mention keep your motor running..

My advice is to shift fast and good and work on good 60ft times.. on stock tires you should aim for 2.1 60fts.. getting that down low will help... for example, my first time out i was getting 13.6 with 2.2, 2.3 60ft times... second time i went i got down to 2.1 at 13.4seconds.. so every tenth is a second in quarter mile time...

So I should keep the motor running when I'm waiting in line to run?

i don't know if their cars are stock but there are guys at www.3.8mustang.com getting high 14s and low 15s in their V6 mustangs. Look at the timeslip section.

believe me, you can tell the difference in performance up here in colorado. my brother-in-law owns a manual 02 gt. when this thing was stock. i thought it was pretty quick because i had never been in a car quicker than 17 seconds. i got used to it and slowly but surely the mods began. first thing was a vortech at 6 psi with no intercooler. when i got into that car and he hit the gas, my head was pushed back in the seat the hold time. now he has 367rwhp and 370rwtq(10psi now) . i got used to it a LONG time ago, but to me thats still be pretty fu**in quick, his fastest time up here was a 13.39@107. that was with a race weight of ver 3800lbs! (convertible). your probably thinkin thats slow, but no one on the street or track has beat him, (or us when i cruise with him), except for one bike that was doin 12.3 with a dinky shot of nitrous at the track. thats out of at least 30 different cars.
