Need suggestions for some anime to check outMarc-OS 06-08-2004, 09:29 PM I want to get some more anime for my collection, but haven't been able to find anything cool just by searching. Right now I've got Hellsing, Berserk, Samurai X (OVAs), Vampire Hunter D: Blood Lust, and Blood: The Last Vampire. I hope that gives you an idea of what kind of stuff I'm looking for. So if anyone knows some anime that's in the same field as the stuff I have, tell me, or if you know some really funny ones, I'd like to hear those too. NSX-R-SSJ20K 06-10-2004, 05:37 AM Grappler Baki (02) ones those are violent as shit. You can buy them from hong kong but the subtitles are obsolute bollocks. Layla's Keeper 06-12-2004, 02:50 AM Well, I'd say that you'd definitely want Gunsmith Cats, probably Dominion Tank Police, Ghost in the Shell, (yeah, two Masamune Shirow anime, I'm showing my fan age), and Ninja Scroll (the movie). Also good for consideration; X TV, Riding Bean, Project A-ko, Bubblegum Crisis (the original, not 2040 which sucks), Noir, Black Magic M-66, and whatever Leiji Matsumoto anime you can lay your hands on. Harlock Saga, Arcadia of My Youth, Galaxy Express 999, Queen Emeraldas, Space Pirate Captain Herlock, DNA Sights 999.9, Cosmic Warrior Zero, and Maetel Legend are all good Matsumoto anime from the same universe. Matsumoto also created Space Battleship Yamato, known here stateside as Starblazers. gigglesnirt 06-12-2004, 09:33 AM cowboy bebop, trigun, um....crap, there was one more..... ooo .hack is pretty good ST-001 06-14-2004, 10:43 AM Too much violent crap. need to relax more with chicks man. Love Hina and Vandread all the way !! Layla's Keeper 06-14-2004, 08:29 PM When three out of six anime the guy lists are violent moody vampire series/movies, one is a dark fantasy epic filled with ultra violence and two are tales of wandering samurai, you get the impression that violent series are the guy's game. Not that I named mindless violence in my post. Heck, Matsumoto anime is famous for being explorative and emotional as well as very dramatic battles. Emeraldas telling of her love for Tochiro in Queen Emeraldas, for example. Marc-OS 06-14-2004, 10:27 PM I'm previewing a few episodes of Noir and X. They're pretty cool so far. darkprincess0330 06-16-2004, 04:09 PM A great anime is Sorceror Hunters and Slayers they are not very violent or bloody, but they are really funny. gigglesnirt 06-16-2004, 06:15 PM omg love hina is great, i think thats the one i may have forgotten, but its funny and good, so yeah, for sure luv hina NSX-R-SSJ20K 06-27-2004, 07:37 AM Noir is alrite. joebowlr21 06-29-2004, 02:51 AM Berserk! only if you can stand seeing massive amounts of violenece.Specially the end of the season, violent an rape. darkprincess0330 07-01-2004, 04:12 PM Amazine Nurse Nanako Is Really Fun Also. xviciousx 07-07-2004, 04:42 AM Neon Genesis Evangelion... you are not a true collector until you own it and the movies. Period. Aside from that- Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Love Hina, His and Her Circumstances, Voices of a Distant Star, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Slayers, .hack, Tenchi Muyo! (all series and movies), any/all of the Gundams, and if you need anymore just IM @ und3rth3skysob1u geofroley 08-16-2004, 09:03 AM Rahxephon. It was amazing. NSX-R-SSJ20K 08-28-2004, 06:52 PM Samurai 7 is fucking sweet. ProjectPhantom 08-31-2004, 02:25 AM OMG!!!! no mentioned "INITIAL D"!!!! but damn stay away from the tokyo pop dubbed version they just kill the whole series... maybe samurai deeper kyo? or one of my personal favs wolf's rain dunno bout gettin it in america tho. Layla's Keeper 08-31-2004, 02:40 AM Wolf's Rain is actually airing on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim Saturday block and the first two DVD's have been released at this point. And while watching the T-pop dub is like watching a train wreck, there's a perfectly unmolested subtitled version sitting right on the DVD. Have fun. Passivality 09-24-2004, 02:17 PM Okay if you loved beserk, and animes like that i would deffenately have to recommend record of loduss war, and princess mononokai, im not sure if i spelt "mononokai" right, but its sooo amazing, check it out, one of the best movies i've seen Layla's Keeper 09-24-2004, 05:36 PM Well, it's Record of the Lodoss War (not Loduss) and Princess Mononoke.
