Retro-ing 300zx airbags in a 280TheMattHatter 06-08-2004, 01:55 PM Is this possible without much difficulty? I understand the issues with a coil-over spring and airbag sensor, but if I could find a place for the airbag sensor and do the custom wiring could this airbag be fitted into the 280? I love the car, but parents have strict rules against a car w/out airbags, which leaves me high and dry here unless the installation isn't too incredibly difficult. I can the wiring underneath the carpets myself and install the new steering wheel. Main concern would be changing to a non-coil-over spring steering wheel to one, and steering-wheel fitting size and possability of the new wiring. cazzper21 09-09-2004, 05:43 PM dude im in the same boat ur in. but my parents wont even think about buying one unless it has air bage. sux eh 1viadrft 09-10-2004, 07:43 PM It would not be worth the money my friend... with the amount of money you would spend to retrofit air-bags you could probably buy a good running car with air-bags installed already! The only advice I have to you is: KILL YOUR PARENTS! AIR-BAGS ARE OVERRATED ANYWAYS! I don't have air-bags... and I will probably die a horrible death like Jimmy Dean but who gives a fuck? You are gonna die one way or another, right? Is your 280ZX turbo? 1viadrft 09-10-2004, 07:44 PM Hey WTF! damn newb tricked me into posting in an old-ass thread! I'm telling! Weeeeeeeeessssssley!!!! DeleriousZ 09-10-2004, 09:07 PM a-ha! sucker!... lol i don't like airbags, the idea of a piece of fabric being hurtled at my face at 300 kph or whatever isn't exactly my cup of tea.. ZedEx 09-11-2004, 03:04 PM It's ok George, we still love you :D ... READ THE STICKIES NEWBIES... Do not be a necrothreadiac... Closed. -Wes vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
