Can anybody tell me the basically stock 1/4 times of a couple of Civics?

92 SI 5spd
93 VTEC auto

I was just curious, all my friends have Civics. I know I can kill the 93, but the 92 SI will race me soon.

92 Si 5spd - is about 16.2 in the 1/4

93 VTEC - I would guess is an EX coupe. In auto about 17 seconds.

15's seconds my ass. I have yet to see a 6th gen SI get to 15 flat let alone an EX coupe or 5th gen SI. I have never seen a stock 5th gen even get into the 15's and I have watched hundreds run over the years. I have seen plenty of modded 5th gen EX's and SI's run low 16's and that's it. Hell, when I first installed my B16 I was running almost a 15 flat and I had no A/C, back seat, passengers seat, or a spare. After a lot of practice, drag radials, bolt-ons, and some tuning I am now in the mid to high 14's depending on how I drive. So don't tell me about a stock D series running low or even mid 15's unless it's completely gutted.

hmmm i drive a 95 EX with I/H/E and i would be freaking ecstatic if i could run 15's. 16.8 sounds more realistic.... then again i drive an automatic DANG!

I have a 92si HB I/H/E and 17's with one JL 12 and 229k miles 1/2 tank of gas and i my quikest time was 15.855 @ 87.31mph. The temp was around 55 in steele alabama but i would have to agree stock high 16's easy.:alien:

First off to anyone that reads this, sorry. I know the post is kinda old but once I read this I got totally pissed. Where I would like to start with this guy is that I live in Albuquerque New Mexico(5500 feet) and as everyone should know cars run slower at higher altitudes. When I ran my car ALL I had was intake. Full interior...everyhting else bone stock and I ran on BALD tires. I ran a 16.8 Now you figure if I ran in lets say Houston TX then I would gain around 1 sec. just because of the altitude difference. Sake of argument maybe high 15's. Now add my header, full exhaust, short shift, plugs, wires, underdrive pulley, adj. cam gear and I'm running mid-low 15's I don't know who you're watching race but maybe they should stick to their bycicles and leave racing to those of us that know how to.

Look here son, you were probably in kindergarden when I first started racing cars. I live In San Antonio and just recently watched a number of modded EX's run mid to high 16's in 40 degree weather. You can kiss my ass because there is no way you could run mid 15's in an EX with bolt-ons and a full interior. I have not even seen a stock SI get lower than mid 15's in San Antonio, so how in the hell do you expect me to believe that an EX with 10HP in bolt-ons is running mid 15's? Your 16.8 is about right. I don't give a shit what elevation your at. San Antonio is ideal for racing and I have watched more EX's and DX's than you'll ever know. Every week I am embarassed to own an import because of all the dip shits with I/H/E on there civics and sentra's that go out to the track and run consistantly in the 16's-18's-20's all night long. I say if you can't run low 15's or faster then you don't belong at a race track. Bring your stupid ass to San Antonio, I have a grand that says you won't break 16's in an EX with I/H/E, let alone run mid 15's.

Oh, I'm sorry...I didn't realize how smart you were. I mean you are a whole five years older than me so you MUST have a lot more experience with cars than little 'ol me:rolleyes: Whatever! Believe me...if I had a grand in my account right now I would be more than happy to show you what the fuck's up and how to really race just so I could take your money and laugh in your face.:lol2: And I thought everybody knew about elevation but obviously not! See...at sea level there is more air than there is at 5500 feet. More air=go faster. Is that clear enough for ya? Oh and one more thing...you say you've seen Si's run mid 15's and I am right with an Si. Imagine that...:thinkerg: Maybe it's because I actually know hot to drive my fucking car!

actually I am in albuquerque also, and it is true that some cars lose almost 1 sec off their 1/4 mile times from sea-level. I think our fastest 1/h/e SI got a 16.2. But another problem with the ex civic guys is that they can cang with SI's in first and 2nd, and end the race their where the SI will start pulling. I know this because I owned a ex and used to do the same and then talk my shit, but in all honesty, I would have lost my ass in a full 1/4 mile. I really doubt that a stock ex is any where near mid 15's with i/h/e. I guess what a lot of the street racers around here don't understand is that the 1/4 mile in a 15 second car ends in the 90 mph, and there is a lot of time that can be made up between 60 and 90+ mph.
