I have a '90 Z32TT and I was wondering what you guys are getting for mpg. I've just bought the car about a few weeks from now and did 2 full fill ups each being 14 gallons of gas. On my tripometer I reset it everytime I fill my tank and I usually get around 180 miles before my next visit to the gas station. So that's roughly around 14 mpg and I wonder what I can do to make it better? I know this isn't right. I do know I have bad oil and will need to change it soon since it was stored for 2 years before I bought it. The car itself is in very good condition though. Could this just be normal for the car being about 14 years old? Is there anything I need to replace? And everything is stock on the car too.

U Might Want To Do A Tune Up And Change Your Gas Filter! I Was Having The Same Problems But I Had A Gas Leak From My Gas Filter. Also Remember Your Driving A Tt Which Burns Alot Of Gas When You Drive It Hard.

i would change the fuel filter and pcv valves. i changed my fuel filter and saw an increase of about 3-4 mpg. one of my friends with a tt changed his pcv valve and now gets about 22 mpg.

I don't drive it hard and I might change the fuel filter then. Thanks for the tip. How hard is it to change the PCV valve? And how much would that cost?

here is the procedure on replacing pcv valves. http://www.ttzd.com/tech/pcvtech.html. from what i understand it is on the underside of each side of the intake plenum.

Thanks for the link, that will definitly help me. I just ordered an oil filter, fuel filter, pcv value, and a nice touch up paint pen :)

All that will probably help but remember...

When the boost gauge reads 15 psi you are burning almost double the gas you do off boost.

With the taller TT gears and a light foot you can probably get 25 on the highway with out too much trouble.

I usually shift within 3,000-3,500 RPM and I don't have a heavy foot. I should be getting my stuff by this week and I'll see how that goes. I'll let you know if it works. Thanks
