I was with my friends trying to find a rave and a fixed up civic hatchbacked pulled up at a light with us. He reved, i didnt bother to look because i didnt have my prelude and i thought my jeep would get dusted. My home boy was like dude when it goes green FLOOR IT!, and i was like no i'll lose, and he's like just do it, it'll be funny. So it went green the hatchback floored it, and i did, we were head to head until i reached 40-50, and i started moving ahead and ahead, and i won the race, HAHAHAHAHAHA.

hahaha, good kill.
That would be pretty embarassing for him. He thinks he's gonna dust you and even revs on you then loses to a jeep cherokee.
(no disrespect to the cherokees)

After my trip to Puerto Rico, I have a whole new respect for SUV's. I had the pleasure of driving around a 96 Grand Cherokee for 5 days and I don't care what you say, that thing had balls. It wasn't even the V8 version and it had enough torque to throw 4 passengers back into thier seats and scoot up 40-50 in no time.

After that the engine kinda starts to complain as you reach it's top speed of 80 :bloated: But that low end kick made up for it 10x over. I loved that torque line man. My d15 could never dream to have that kind of pulling power. I'd hate to see what the V8 could do

yeah, SUV's are so fast. A buddy of mine has a Suburban, and he would just KILL Preludes, Civics and Integras all the time. But he has to fill his tank like once every 5 days, and it costs him like $120 Canadian to fill up each time.

Hey they do make a Jeep Grand Cherokee that goes 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. The regular Cherokees aren't bad with that 4.0L I6. Just wait until they put the new Hemi in them. :D

Nice kill.

There's a slight size and weight difference between the two. The thing had a 20 gallon tank that cost about $22 to fill depending on where you live.

Well I know the price would be different if changed to CDN but it's still the overall same amount of money. $20 for gas isn't gonna kill ya.

I raced my friend in his V8 Cherokee one time and beat him really bad. Come to find out when he was accelerating his CD player flew out of his dash and knocked his Jeep out of gear. Now that's some funny stuff. I guess he'll learn to properly mount his stereo equipment before racing.
:hehehe:

Nah, gas is just obscenely expensive in Canada. It's almost as bad as the UK. $120 Canadian is about $75 US. I could see someone paying that much to fill up a SUV in Canada.

Whats the deal with I6 engines. I drove a 92' cherokee xj 4x4 (They call the non grand cherokees xj in the jeep world) for a year before it was stolen. 190 hp and 235 ft/lbs. That thing would pull really hard. Expecially when I put the 4x4 in low :D
My friend has a 96' f-150 with a 4.9L I6 with 260 ft/lbs. Thats a whole lotta torque.

Ill have to race my moms 99' suburban one of these days and tell you about it.

im not absolutley sure on that Polygon. All I know is that its a 4.0L Inline 6 with almost 200 bhp, i have some Bosch Quad Fire spark plugs, and a this different Jeep intake that my dad bought me for Christmas..It has no top end, but it has a buttload of low-end torque.. I peel out easily even though its an auto..

LjasonL

okay well a 4.0 is a long way from a 360... so no, your jeep doesnt have a 360.

thanks..what would it be then? cause i dont know about measurements like that..

I beat a '96ish V8 Eddie Baur Explorer pretty bad, that was when my car had no mods at all I believe.

mastachi, a 4.0 liter works out to 244.05125076266017 cubic inches, so well be normal and say 244cid instead of that big long ass number :D
u can calculate displacement conversions as well as other car related math at http://www.fxracer.com/rpm.htm
