Is it good to take the car out on a hot day?RevvRX-7 06-07-2004, 03:20 PM For long periods of time? Thank u! J-Rat 06-07-2004, 04:10 PM Why wouldnt it? Soyo 06-07-2004, 07:13 PM the engine is way hotter than the tempature outside ever is so I don't see what the problem would be, unless somehow you have a worse than stock cooling system, which would be dumb anytime... MBTN 06-07-2004, 08:44 PM It warms up a hell of a lot faster, why not take it out? ;) RevvRX-7 06-07-2004, 11:25 PM Oh..well that makes sense.. -smacks self- o_x HighwayRacer 06-10-2004, 07:46 PM Wow, you are all dumb. It isnt good to get on a rotary when it is a hot day. This concept works the same as why it is better to drive on cool days. Rotarys run much hotter, so dont race when it is hot. RevvRX-7 06-10-2004, 09:08 PM well shite...does he speak the truth? mospeed1 06-10-2004, 09:17 PM ya you can drive when it's hot out what do people do during the summer walk to work HighwayRacer 06-11-2004, 10:06 AM well shite...does he speak the truth? Yes, yes I do. You can drive when its hot. Just dont get on it, or hit boost. Its not good for the car, trust me. MBTN 06-11-2004, 12:33 PM I sat in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour yesterday and it was like 80 out. My car didn't overheat. And yes you can get on it if it's hot out. HighwayRacer 06-11-2004, 01:07 PM Well I live in Texas where it hits 100 alot, thats the kind of Hot that im talking about darkjedi04 06-11-2004, 02:14 PM I live in florida :sigh: and it usually gets 90-95 degreese outside and i've always drivin mine, i'd say you should be fine. mason_RsX 06-11-2004, 03:12 PM Here in Canada it can still get real warm and muggy out. I think that driving when its hot will not break down your car, but it does work the car harder to keep it at its perfect temperature (especially when a/c drains the power)... I think the heat also puts more ware on your tires when it does get too hot and dry DevoutWankelist 06-11-2004, 04:27 PM The temperature inside your engine when running is hotter than it is outside, whatever air you bring in will be cooler than what the temp already is, if it is cold it just cools more, hot and it cools less. What feels hot to us is not hot to our engines. Even on a cold day, after bringing the car in the garage I could fry an egg on the motor, it is at a temperature many times higher than the hot air is on a hot day, so then the hot air is cooler than the motor. Granted it wont cool the motor down much, it definately wont heat it up, may allow you to get the motor to make a temperature that is hotter than normal, but doubtfully significantly hotter. PS: never trust someone who puts "trust me" at the end of most of his posts it is almost always a sure sign you are dealing with a fuckwit. PPS: This kid has someone do all the work on his cars as stated earlier, why is it that he thinks he is an expert. PPPS: I'm not an expert either don't listen to me, Dayna or J-Rat will have the answer. Soyo 06-11-2004, 04:36 PM man in Kansas it get up to a 100 just like Texas(and yes I know, I lived in Texas for 6 years before I moved to Kansas) and I get on mine on hot days all the time, then afterwards I can even cruise with the ac on and have no problems... "trust me" :) J-Rat 06-11-2004, 04:36 PM Wow, you are all dumb. It isnt good to get on a rotary when it is a hot day. This concept works the same as why it is better to drive on cool days. Rotarys run much hotter, so dont race when it is hot. Really? Hmmm... Maybe I missed the memo on that. Because I can boost all day long in Tucson AZ on 110 degree days with no probleom... Oh wait! I forgot! I have a K2RD radiator and a 3000 CFM fan... Call me dumb once more.... DevoutWankelist 06-11-2004, 04:43 PM Wow, you are all dumb When you're too stupid to be aware of all that you don't know, calling the rest of the world dumb is easy. Soyo 06-11-2004, 04:48 PM Really? Hmmm... Maybe I missed the memo on that. Because I can boost all day long in Tucson AZ on 110 degree days with no probleom... Oh wait! I forgot! I have a K2RD radiator and a 3000 CFM fan... Call me dumb once more.... see 110 degrees, hes got you beat! HA J-rat, your my idol! :cwm27: DevoutWankelist 06-11-2004, 05:04 PM Hmmmm, HighwayRicer is online now and not posting. Can't blame him though, if my ass were still bleeding from such a fresh hard ownage i dont know that i would have the strength to continue either. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/0ownedcats.jpg J-Rat 06-11-2004, 05:22 PM J-rat, your my idol! :cwm27: You got issues man... Serious issues.. :p HighwayRacer 06-11-2004, 05:25 PM Ive talked to Chris Ott at RP about this issue, and I believe him over all of you when he says not to get on the car when it is hot. DevoutWankelist 06-11-2004, 05:29 PM I don't doubt it, I bet he has to be careful with people like you. When you know someone is gonna fuck shit up, you tell em everything is bad so that you can't be accountable. J-Rat 06-11-2004, 05:31 PM well shit... If he says it, it must be true. Fact is, a well conditioned cooling system is up to the task of cooling your rotary on even the HOTTEST of days. I can do 1-3 gear pulls in 100+ degree weather, then go pull into the Taco Bell drive through. My temps dont rise. I notice that in your mod list you dont mention any cooling mods.. Are you really dense enough to do all those mods on a stock cooling system? Soyo 06-11-2004, 05:35 PM lol no wonder he said YOU shouldn't do it... the stock cooling system is pretty freaking good, but seriously get atleast a radiator, then an e-fan, then ask him again and I bet his answer changes why you gotta punk me J and say I have issues man? lol ok so I do have A FEW issues :) HighwayRacer 06-11-2004, 05:36 PM Im sure its fine to get on the car, when its stock, which im guessing J-Rat's is. And I have a Koyo, thats enough. J-Rat 06-11-2004, 05:38 PM Im sure its fine to get on the car, when its stock, which im guessing J-Rat's is. And I have a Koyo, thats enough. Mine is pretty fucking far from stock.. And if you have a Koyo then you dont have to worry about overheating on summer days. Damn man.. You just dont get it, do you? HighwayRacer 06-11-2004, 05:40 PM What do you have, N/A? J-Rat 06-11-2004, 05:42 PM Yeah, in my signature it CLEARLY states I drive a 10th Anniversary. I wast aware they made those in N/A... Really man, go to sleep.... HighwayRacer 06-11-2004, 05:43 PM Wow, you ran a mid 13!!! I wish I could be as fast as you! J-Rat 06-11-2004, 05:46 PM damn..you truly are dumb... If you read the post it says I ran a mid 13 on a stock turbo.. I cuurently have a 60-1.. Christ.. Do you get paid to be this stupid? HighwayRacer 06-11-2004, 05:48 PM Christ.. Do you have anything better to do than to try to prove people wrong on internet forums Soyo 06-11-2004, 05:53 PM hey highwayricer stop talking trash on J-rats car when you know nothing about it... seriously how could you miss it in his sig... and then be dumb enough to think a 10AE is non-turbo... HighwayRacer 06-11-2004, 05:57 PM did I say his 10AE was non turbo, stop assuming things, ass drftk1d 06-11-2004, 06:40 PM *Wishes he was a mod... HighwayRacer 06-11-2004, 06:52 PM *Wishes he was a mod... *Wishes his balls would drop... drftk1d 06-11-2004, 06:59 PM The funny thing is, i was talking about myself wishing i was a mod, not you. So if you go by the same idea, then you wish that your OWN balls would drop. Just thought i'd clarify that. J-Rat 06-11-2004, 07:13 PM Christ.. Do you have anything better to do than to try to prove people wrong on internet forums Do you have anything better to do then call all of us stupid on posts? Fact is, you started this by calling all of us dumb. So now your getting flamed. What did you expect? HighwayRacer 06-11-2004, 07:22 PM The funny thing is, i was talking about myself wishing i was a mod, not you. So if you go by the same idea, then you wish that your OWN balls would drop. Just thought i'd clarify that. Thats what I was talking about. I really wish my balls would drop.
