HI, LOOK RIGHT BEHIND THE DISTRIBUTOR YOU WILL SEE THE ELECTRICAL PLUG THE UNIT SCREWS INTO THE BLOCK, BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE CONNECTER PLUG DON'T BREAK OFF THE LITTLETAB THAT HOLDS IT IN PLACE HOPE THIS HELPS DALE jeepman600@aol.com :smokin:

By distributor, I guess you mean the gray/tan thing w/o a cap that is on the left side of the motor just fwd of the oil filter. There is no wiring to any sending unit on that side of the motor, that I can see. Could it be at the aft end of the motor aft of the valve cover?

Thx,

Bob

HI ITS RIGHT BEHIND THE DISTRIBUTOR THATS THE CAP WITH THE SPARK PLUG WIRES ON IT. LOOK DOWN BELOW THE CAP A LITTLE ITS A SMALL ROUND UNIT IT SCREWS INTO THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE. IT MAY BE HIDDEN BY THE WIRING HARRENESS . DALE jeepman600@aol.com :smokin:

I've looked at the engine, and I don't believe that the '99, 4.0L has a distributor per se.

This may not impact the position, but do you have a '99 or a '96 (see subject posted) ?

By the way I'm trying to find my sensor as well on a '95 5.2l V8. I do have a disributer .. :-). Dale: would that be the same position?

THX

HI, IT SHOULD BE RIGHT IN THAT AREA THEY'VE CHANGED THEM ITS HARD TO KEEP UP WITH. CHEVY USED TO BE RIGHT IN BACK OF BLOCK RIGHT WHERE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ENDS, THATS RIGHT IN LINE WITH CAM BEARINGS SO IT SHOULD BE IN THE CENTER OF ENGINE BLOCK HOPE THIS HELPS DALE jeepman600@aol.com

HI IF YOU HAVE A 99 CHEROKEE, I HAVEN'T GOTTEN INTO THEM BUT THE OIL FILTER IS UNDER THE COIL PACK FOR THE PLUGS , THE SWITCH IS PROBABLY IN THAT AREA CAUSE THE CAM BEARINGS JOURNALS ARE CAST IN THAT AREA, SHOULD BE NEAR OIL FILTER. DALE
