ive been around on the web looking at diff. websites on the mk3 supra. and sum sites have things like free mods which i love. like shimming the wastegate. i was wonderig if anyone out there knew of any other kind of free mods for the mk3 supra. i have a 90' turbo so thats why the wastegate thing worked for me. thanks in advance for any help given.

You should lose that mind set now, if you want cheap and easy mods then buy a honda, if you want power and reliability then get ready to pay up. Remember the old saying, "fast, reliable, cheap.... pick two" because it applies very well in most all cases.

I agree that it cost to get your car to go fast but there are a few things you can do to do that that doesn't cost anything. You can shim the wastgate and ruin the seals inside. You can also port the turbo elbow just grind the hole bigger to help to get the turbo to spool faster and by eleminating some back presure when the waistgate opens but be sure not to go to far or it will crack. you can also add resistance to the exhaust O2 sensor wire so the computer thinks the mixture is lean and fixes it. but your check engine light might be on all the time witch might be kinda dangerous. So the point is just go buy the stuff and quit being cheap it will be beter in the long run. And since you didn't figure this out on your own means you are not qualified to do it. There are alot of other things you can do but thats you to find out. Go to a good tech school for a couple of years then if you haven't figuered it out I will help you.

Add a resistor inline with the O2 sensor circuit?? That's smart, so your trying to fool the ECU into running more rich, giving you crappy gas milage and less power. Ontop of that your resistor mod will only actually do something between 1% and 70-80% throttle, at idle and WOT it reverts back to preset fuel maps and the AFM for fuel compensation. I don't know about you but when I want extra power it isn't at half throttle, and when I wan't gas milage it isn't at WOT. Don't bother porting the stock elbow, it will still only be 2.25-2.5" and cost you hours of grinding and breathing cast material. Not worth the $40-50 for a new one if you ask me.

we are not talking about very much resistance like .25 - .5 ohms. It would be best to get a fuel ratio gage of some sort if you are going to do it. And the computer is in closed loop during idle and wot but from the time you open throttle untill it is wide open is when you are trying to get the turbo to spool you need it already there by the time throttle is fully open. having a little extra gas will make it get there faster.
ok now for the turbo elbow. yes it would be better to just go buy one. but the guy wanted to know some free modifications remember. And why don't you think .500" wouldn't make a diference if you get your block board out a little like .020 it makes a nice size diferece. You have to be able to get the exhaust out with very little to know resistance. Look at how they desined the elbow the wastgate it even looks like it would be a problem. Trust me it does make a difference I have done it. My turbo used to spool at about 2800rpm and after it does at right about 2500rpm. not a huge advatage but few little things add up.

I don't know why you just said the same thing I did, only wrong, maybe you should read my post again. Closed Loop is when the ECU takes in information from the O2 sensor and other sensors on the engine, as I said above idle and below WOT, Open Loop is when the ECU reverts to a PRE-SET fuel map for tuning at idle and 70-80% to WOT. Even if your resistor mod did you anything positive, which it won't, your not helping the turbo spool unless you mean by making it run so rich that gas floods the engine and actually burns in the exhaust manifold. Old rally cars used to do this, and they went through alot of blown turbos and broken manifolds. If you won't listen to me as to why this is a very bad idea then listen everyone on SF who posted about this...

Again, as I said before about the stock elbow, "(it will) cost you hours of grinding and breathing cast material". I don't know about you but my time is worth money and die grinding stones cost money making it not free. You might gain a few HP by porting the POS elbow but it is not worth it with the huge wealth of aftermarket products out now for such a cheap price that will outperform this 1000x over. Nobody in the right mind would spend hours porting the elbow when they could order one in 5 minutes and have it at the house the next day for $30 more. That's just my opinion though so what does it matter.
