Scenario:

Cruising the beach earlier tonight, blaring some Between The Buried and Me. And here comes Geoff:

(Geoff is guy I know a bit, he has a suped up 1995 240SX. I thought it was stock powertrain... Untill I heard that BOV, haha)

He flew by me shooting me a BOV as he went by. So I punched up next to him. And we pulled off in a parking lot and checked out eachothers cars...

Geoff is running a full SR20DET (out of an S14) powertrain, with a turbo that looks as if it belongs on a Mack truck. HUGE.

So we head off to the country (about 25minutes away) and line up on a straight-a-way. We start off at 35MPH, lining up.

He shouts out to me "On the strobe, we go"

So I start eyeing his headlights... *FLASH*

We're off... Im gunning it, and I start getting out in front.

We're at about 100MPH, both pulling hard...

All of the sudden, that Mack Sized Turbo kicks in...

And he's gone. Haha, blew RIGHT past me. But I had him for the first few gears. God I need a TT :D

Anyone else got any good race stories?

okay, in the first week or so i had my car, this prelude that lives in the same town as me and has a flashy body kit on it, some flasy chrome weels, pretty much a ricer, he pulled up next to me and i asked him what kind of performance he has and he told me quote, "enough to beat you."

so finally last week i met him out cruisin and i didn't know what kind of performance he had, i have heard from stock to having nitrous and everything (i knew he had cold air cuz i could hear it).

well, i pull up next to him at a stoplight and he has his woman with him (she is a big whore in my school). the light turns green and we take off, i pull ahead of him every m.p.h that goes by. i slow down and he gets up to me and says lets go again cuz supposedly he got a bad start.

so we hit the next red light and he if over there revving his engine. it turns green and i don't get as good as a start as last time so he is in front of me. well, i shift to second and i start passing him, than at third i am at his window and i pass him so easily and he is getting pissed at this point.

i talk to him and he has nothing to say so i go off on my own. so that was the best race i have won so far because he rubbed it in my face before hand that he could beat me, and he also had is woman with him, hahaha.

if you read all this, i am glad.

I 'TOUGE' race... once and awhile I'll do a little drag. I 'spar' with my bro in his S12 200sx Turbo in the montains... sometimes he wins... most of the time I win!

Some stories:
Once I was heading down the road with my fiancee from the movies on a lazy Sunday afternoon. This Sentra SpecV blows by me and he takes a glance at me and down-shifts it next to me... he has a girl sitting by him and he his very intent on racing! I look at this guy and I'm thinking: "What a dumb-ass! There are like all these cars in front of us!" So he figures I don't wanna race and shoots up ahead of everyone!

I'm heading down about a block or two and fate sees that me and Mr. SpecV meet at a redlight! No cars in front of us! He starts revving and him and his chick are looking over at me. I glance over to my fiancee and she just shakes her head 'cus she knows what I'm gonna do!

The red goes green and I punch it! He hits second and I'm half a car length in front! Third: he is much slower than I thought... he tries for fourth gear... GRIIIIIIIIIND! Total misshift! Fifth: GRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND! Aww-shit! Someone doesn't know how to shift properly! By now I am already getting close to hitting 100mph and he is way behind! I start to slow down a little now 'cus my girl is getting all pissed off. I look in my rear veiw and I see him bust a U, chirping his tires! What a dumb-ass!

This other time... I was on the 'touge'/mountain pass, attacking the uphill and I'm just driving to my hearts content! This car rolls up behind me and starts tail-gating. Looks like a WRX... I see guys rolling WRX's around here every once and awhile along with some other sporty-car drivers and crotch-rockets. I know I'm gonna get my ass kicked (being an NA and all) but I figure this could be fun!

I step it up a few notches and I'm on the brink of losing it on the corners... my rear end slides out every now and then. The WRX is on my ass the whole time! I can't shake him! We hit a straight incline and I know this is it! He pulls over and passes me! The car sounds mean and is modded! I hear a BOV and exhaust! PASS!!! Nice WRX....

WRX Sport Wagon that is! :iceslolan

Good stories 1via.

I've got a good dorifto story as well... That's something you dont know about me man, I can tear up a drift course. We have a local thing downtown every Wednesday.

(Backround: My "Drift" car cost me $450 to build. I bought an '89 240sx, striped down everything, dropped it to the ground, stiffened it up nicely, primed the whole body, disembled the engine, and polished up the internals to ensure a "smoother" run. Doughnut wheels all the way around, they're much cheaper to replace, lexan front windsheild, 100% stripped interior, half roll cage, all weight that could have been stripped, was.)

We were at the drift events that night. A 1997 240sx challenges me... So we go at it.

I punch it around the first turn, countersteer to the left in advance, drop it to 2nd, clutch rev it, and burn it around, perfect nose dive. Pull it out and keep going... He however lost traction and just started spinning his tires to get the crowd going, doing some nice doughnuts.

So I turn around, and start circling him smoking my tires... I cut on the strobes (mounted right behind the rear differential, for show only)

So there is a good deal of smoke, strobe, and flame spitting everywhere... Then people come in and start throwing bleech in the area... The smoke doubled...

(They use bleech on the track to slicken it up a bit, mop+bleech=lots of fun, haha)

O my God it was sick. It got too thick that I couldnt see where I was, so I got out of the cloud... Right into an old brick wall... Haha

The whole car got totaled. It was worth it however.

A new Dorifto is in the works. This one is only $25 bucks with a blown engine, and some serious body problems, rust, dents, paint missing, etc... Perfect drift car basically :D . 240's are awesome, haha.

Luckily I could salvage the roll cage, and other accesories she had.

So I'll post pictures of the car when it's done. And hopefully I can get some video on here of the drift nights.

Got any pictures, or video of you tearing up the "TOUGE" 1via?

I have a quick story

My dad is the driver haha. he is going down this semi-wind road and sees as "stupid rice burner" as he called it. So the kid and him are neck and neck. (quick note: he had it cause it was being re painted so this car is sick looking, all black, shiney, greddy front end, black mesh inserts, hence stealthz32) So he looks over sees two ghetto kids in the front with their girls in the back.. He decides, Im gonna have fun, he takes off in between cars in the open and waits for the follow.

Gets to a red light, smokes em to the next. they pull up and have a conversation.
kids: "stick?"
dad: "no."
kids: "turbo?"
dad: "no. driver." :smokin: --> smokes the tires and leaves em shocked at the green light. haha :eek7:

cant under estimate the N/A automatic lol
As for personal stories I havent had the car in that much working in order since Ive had it so i mostly have had short drags from light to light. My area is too crowded

$450? For all that?

I built the car "Broke as ****"

From scratch, bought the beaten up rusted ass body from a junk yard auction. For $50 :D

Took apart the engine, bought some new components that were needed. Timing chain, CAS, MAF some of these were destroyed.

The rest I restored the best of my ability. I sent the rods over to the machine shop, and had them re-inforced the connecting rods, block, etc. In order for the engine to handle the kind of stress drifting puts on it.

The rest of the project was using scrap sheet metal I got for free, some fiberglass, and resin. The primer I got for free as well. But it would only cost about $100

Not an EASY project, but it was a FUN car. VERY FUN. I would suggest anyone who is trying to get into drifting, to do what I did. Build a cheap, easily fixable car, so when you wreck, no biggy, and if you engine goes... Wow, new one at a junk yard for $150.

Lucky you... All we have around here is LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of shipping docks... Abondoned, broken down, PERFECT drift course's.

And lots of empty parking lots out in the middle of no-where. It's actually safer this way, but o well.
