data logging software

as simple as it reads, where can i get one. i have a laptop and can get a cable from dsmparts. now what kind of software do i need. and no i am not planning on getting dsmlink. buying a new ecu and modding it or hvaing someone else mod it is just too much work to me.

I'm very interested in this myself. However what kind of cables do you need anyway? And to what exactly they connect to, I take it a AFC if you have one?

Buying a GSX 99% this Friday and I know it needs tuning, but the seller doesn't know anything on tuning, nor do I lol.

you plug it into your OBD plug under your dash. you need a cable that converts from OBD to serial port to connect to your laptop. like i said, you can get one from dsmparts

I've always wondered... what format is the software in... I mean is in on a CD or what exactly. :confused:

You can emulate a serial port on a laptop.

Pocketlogger is BY NO MEANS shady.

Yes. You can use it with a laptop.

well i wouldn't be surprised that you can run it on laptop consider that pc and palm's OS are both based on the same technoloy. the only problem is, it could be buggy. since it's not specifically written for the PC. i wouldn't be suprise also if you run into problems.

I am sure there is. There is a TI-83 emulator, so I don't see why there would not be one :p

i never trouble emulation softwares, they're just shady. isn't there a software out there that's just written for pcs.

It's a logger for palm, so no, there won't be any software for a PC for it. If pocketlogger.com and a Palm OS emulator are shady I don't know what's legit.

There have been palm emulators for many years, I'm very sure they have all of the bugs worked out. It's just a display, even I could make that.

You could do a search for ODBII logger software, and I'm sure you'll come up with something. There are a couple that I know of, but dont know the names. I believe the "tunerstien" or something like that had a laptop version.
