Hard water spots!!!neumeisterwd 06-02-2004, 09:46 PM Is there any way to remove hard water spots from glass? They are all over it. I tried amorall glass cleaner and windex. They wont come out. BullShifter 06-03-2004, 07:32 PM Try fine steel wool with glass cleaner, not Armor All junk. Stoner glass cleaner works great for cleaning. If the steel wool don't work, try glass polish! http://www.topoftheline.com/tolae/glasspolish.html MStout 06-04-2004, 01:08 AM Hehe...I love that brand name...Stoner. Who named it that anyway? Markgase2000 06-18-2004, 04:58 PM dont use fine steel wool , I did that for years and it just makes fine scratches. I just rewash the car and chamoise the windows right away so that dont happen again. If you dont feel like doing that then try some rubbing compound it dont scratch and cleans the windows at the same time just use a very dry cloth. BullShifter 06-18-2004, 07:37 PM Squeegee(*sp?) works great for windows Markgase2000 06-19-2004, 09:40 AM yup squeegees work great too , just watch the metal edge that holds the blade , that could make big big scratches. BullShifter 06-19-2004, 01:32 PM aaaahhh, there are all rubber ones - handle rubber also but yet still can scratch. Take care & no problems Markgase2000 06-20-2004, 03:13 PM cool luv2cruz2 08-19-2004, 04:09 PM I also have hard water what I do is as soon as I am done washing ( I allway make sure the car is wet and there is no dry spots from the sun evaporating the water) get a good chammy and wipe it down you'll never have water spots again. Spots are caused by impurities in the water. This thing has a filter on it to keep that from happening. I use it on my bike and my black car. Black92LudeSI 09-02-2004, 01:57 PM I reccomend quick detail spray. I wash my car , then dry it. AFter that I use this detail spray for water spots and other things I missed. IT works out well ViperJ 09-02-2004, 11:04 PM That new Mr. Clean car wash thingy actually works really good to keep water spots off your car. Spots are caused by impurities in the water. MeTaL_MeHeM 09-09-2004, 08:16 PM they make a rubbing compound speacialy for glass but if you chammy it everytime right after you wash it you should be good CpaintCars 09-10-2004, 03:26 PM There is a glass cleaner called SprayWay that is really good for a lot of different things. I use a can of that with a microfiber towel and it works great for me. f1guy68 10-08-2004, 08:49 PM If you still need this suggestion, I would reccomend trying cleaning your windows with this solution I make myself! Isopropyl Alcohol (70% formula) White Vinegar Water Mix all three parts equally in a spray bottle. Use a terry towel for extra bite and the spots should come off! Works for me everytime! Somethimes I spray and let it soak for 5 minutes! Since the alcohol will suspend the water and vinegar, you won't get much running down the windows! Spray a fine mist only! Footnote..when I say 70% I don't mean you need 70% in your bottle! There are several grades of Isopropyl Alchohol and the one that is 70% is perfect for windows. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
