I think 0nly in 88 & 87. the coupes might have been only offered in 2.7L but I will check on that. ANd YES legends are fast, esp the coupes(lighter body). with basic mods I/H/E and abit of weight shedding, they can be a threat at the track. Ive heard rumors that the c-series motor is basically a half-cut of hondas F-1 V12 race motor. I know its one of the quickest revving V6 motors ive driven. Drive one with a 5-speed and you'll know what i'm talkin' about!! very sweet and responsive engine. Keep in mind tho, it is a luxury car so dont push its limits! not to mention they are aging too and hence quite delicate. cndctrdj 08-02-2004, 09:37 PM my friends had a major rot problem so he got rid of it nbr1nthuzyst 01-09-2005, 12:35 AM My Mom has a 96' RL, and ive taken it around 125. shit_bag 02-11-2005, 04:48 PM I have a 91 4-door legend and it shifts into 4th at 110, won't know the top speed untill I get my licence back (if it ever happenes) but I'm guessing at least 145-165 newseneus 01-28-2007, 12:32 AM the reason the c27 revs is cus the stroke is short (75mm), just like the b16 (77mm). most go with a longer stroke (85-90mm) for displacement, however high performance such as f-1 use short stroke for high revs and wide bore for displacement. just like the c27......if only it was twin cam (per deck). Mark Rudy 02-08-2007, 09:06 AM dunno about top end but my 89 with the 2.7/5 speed has 268,000 miles on it - drinks oil like water :) needs cv's and a major tune up... I had it up to 135 mph @ 5500 (out of 6200 rpm) a few days ago... mannnnnn was that new charger PISSED he couldnt pull away like he wanted to heheheh vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
