93 f350 rear brakes stickingMrFred51 05-31-2004, 12:19 AM On my 93 F350 dullie the ABS light started coming on and then one of the rear brakes would start rubbing. It felt like I was driving with the emergency brakes applied. Several miles later that brake would be smoking. this happened a couple of months ago and I changed the shoes and springs. It stopped for awile but now has started up again. Usually I could drive for about 25 minutes before the ABS light would come on and usually I was almost at work or at home. If I shut off the engine for a short time it would reset and I could drive another 25 minutes. Now the ABS light comes on after 10 - 15 minutes and comes back on shortly after I restart the engine. The brake is not releasing and I wonder what else it could be. The emergency brake system? The wheel cylenders? the brake lines? (they are solid lines in the rear) the ABS proportioning valve? The ABS rear sensor? Has anybody had any experience with this kind of problem and what advice could you give me? thanks, 97chevyman 05-31-2004, 11:23 AM Sounds like the abs valve to me, but have the codes read to be sure. boognish 06-01-2004, 01:24 AM actually l was just about to post something very similar. l'm having problems with damn near the same thing in my 89 F150. rear abs light has been coming on and over time been staying on and recently my truck has been outta commision b/c the brakes are sticking. l'm lucky if l can even get the thing to move but once l try to stop, the brakes seem like they're not there when l push the pedal and then they stick and stopping has become a real problem. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
