i'm thinking about buying a bmw m3 with around 89000 miles on it....it's a 98. would it be plausible to get a new engine or do u guys think that a car with that much mileage would still run ok...by ok i mean fast haha. i plan on doing other engine mods later on, but i was wondering if the mileage would be a problem.
thanks guys.

Ive herd of people with 189000 on their original motor.
Even getting over 100k with a supercharger.
I wouldnt worry about the motor. Take a look at the rear shock towers though. If its been tracked they may be broken or cracked.
I would say have an experienced mechanic give the whole car a good check up before the purchase.
But dont worry about milege at all.

The rsm's doesn't necessarily go out because of tracking the car. It is just a usual wear and tear part for the vehicle.
As for the mileage on the vehicle it won't really matter if you plan on doing mods. Just start off with prevenative maintinance before doing your mods.
I was wondering how much are you getting the car for?
