I have a 2000 Jimmy DE 4 x 4, I just recently bought a larger boat (21" f/s) and need 20 to 30 mre horsepower to tow adequately, I don't want to change vehicles because of many reason let alone that the Jimmy is paid for. I am thinking about a cold air kit and a cat back exhaust, any comments or reccomendations?

The first thing is to make sure the existing set up is providing maximum efficiency. Leaking vacuum lines prevent power development as do old sensors and binding brakes.

Look at changing the ECM and/or the PROM.

I believe that fitting a spacer on the TBI/manifold joint can add around 10hp or so, depending on engine size. I think Edelbrock make them.

I would assume you have AT cooling and engine oil cooling ?

Using a gas flowed exhaust system will also help, again around 10 hp gain.
