my overdrive is blinking when i turn it on. the weird part is sometimes it doesnt blink either. what could be the problem.

Look for a wire going to the outside of the transaxle (transmission) - should be the vehicle speed sensor.
Check for loose connection or contamination from grease, dirt, etc.
Make sure connection is clean and tight.
Doesn't guarantee this will work, but that would be the first place to look.
