hey all, well my friend is rolling on a D16Y8 (98 EX) and has about $1000 to spend on upgrades...he was originally going to do the B18C ITR swap that i am in the process of, but the money got him a little :uhoh:

so, how can he best spend his $1000 to bump up the power in his ride?

no body or "show" suggestions...he only want some more "go"

i have three different sort of ideas for him, but wanted to see what other options people could come up with:

1. the ole I/H/E combo--tried and true place for all newbies to start

2. Prepping the car for some nitrous system (50 shot max)

3. adjustable cam gear, more aggressive cam, valve springs, retainers, fuel sytem upgrade, V-AFC to tune it a little and engage VTEC earlier, maybe an MSD SC igntion coil

I don't think he'll autoX this thing, maybe just drive fast around town and head to the drag once in a while...thoughts appreciated

if he's going to autox, suspension is more important than hp

I/H/E is my opinion. Helps the car breath better. So you benefit in hp gains, as well as MPG. The less work you make the motor do, the better. My 2 pennies.
