electro superchargertravsstuff 05-28-2004, 10:29 AM Does anyone know where I can get free plans to build an electric supercharger? beef_bourito 05-30-2004, 12:03 PM i don't think it would work very well if you did do that, they need to spin really fast in order to give any significant gain. I dont no where to get the plans but chances are none will give you anything worth the time or money. Reed 05-30-2004, 04:23 PM why dont you just get a centrifugal blower and hook up a poweful high speed electric motor to the shaft where the pulley goes. then attach a ratiometer to your throttle so that you will build boost in responce to throttle position (instead of rpm) and run the power wire to the electric motor through the ratiometer. I think the hardest part of the whole thing would be to find an electric motor that will be fast and powerful enough to spin the compressor. I have a 40,000 rc car motor. So I think that might work. Any links for plans or do i just go for it? Reed 05-30-2004, 11:53 PM your gonna need something way bigger than an rc car motor. SaabJohan 06-01-2004, 04:08 PM The RC car motor won't be powerful enough to give any higher bost pressures. To find an electric motor isn't the problem, but you will also need a more powerful alternator. An alternator is typically 1-2kW, you will probably need at least 10kW. It's much better to connect it mechanically, of you want to be able to shut it off use some sort of clutch. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
