Okay got some body panels in the fitiment stageE Honda 05-28-2004, 02:29 AM Okay guys and gals lemme hear the critics opinions...... Masterpiece in the works (http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/t_maxx_central/album?.dir=/1834) Pull no punches,,,I understand that not everyom shares the same tastes...... E.Honda Sheresh07 05-28-2004, 07:48 AM Looks good, although not quite my style, still got some good looking stuff there. krstofer 05-28-2004, 08:03 AM Okay guys and gals lemme hear the critics opinions...... Dude, you need two threads (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=233096) to get opinions of your car? Not cool. :repost: bloodzombie 05-28-2004, 03:49 PM I appreciate the amount of effort put into it, but that's the best thing I can say about it. I know my opinion doesn't mean shit, but it looks to me like you turned a nice little civic into an expensive piece of crap. I know my opinion doesn't mean shit, but it looks to me like you turned a nice little civic into an expensive piece of crap. Wow now that was kinda harsh...But I am sure that adding more trophies to the collection will not be a problem. Care to elaborate?......... Would be curious to see what you drive with such a comment about mine..... LMAO @ Nice little Civic... BTW.....The car was nothing more than a hull at the time of this project. Near future add ons...... carbon front bumper, supercharger, zex wet system. bloodzombie 05-28-2004, 05:09 PM What I drive really doesn't matter because if I tell you, no matter what it is you'll turn it into a "my car vs your car" debate, and that wasn't hte point of this thread. you asked for opinions, I gave mine. I'm sure other people disagree with me. elaborate? the kit is over the top, the engine is a nasty purple color and I hate those doors. The suspension is pretty cool though and I like the rims. kicker1_solo 05-28-2004, 05:32 PM nice GScivic7 05-28-2004, 06:05 PM I'm going to go completely against all of my beliefs and say, you need some chrome rims with a huge lip on there. You can't really fit a rim with a huge lip on there without some crazy offset, but since your car seems to be pretty much all show, chrome rims would really set it off. E Honda 05-28-2004, 07:35 PM Here is a photo of the front bumper that is going on the car. Should have it in a few days. http://216.55.128.40/sonnic2/otherimages/92_civicccr34front2.jpg Hope it not some bogus crap and a good quality piece. Updates to follow...... I know my opinion doesn't mean shit, but it looks to me like you turned a nice little civic into an expensive piece of crap. i have to agree with him. i just dont see the point of some of the things you did. like multiple colour engine? why? i undersnad maybe painting the engine one colour (not my style but who cares it not my car). just a little too far. agian like he said, its not my car nor money so do what you like best. i hope you do well at your shows. i do like the CF fenders, get rid of those ugly Z3 fenders E Honda 05-28-2004, 10:12 PM I can only assume that you dont show any cars, I have shown various cars since I could own 1. The attention to detail and cleanliness is the key. There are not any autozone bolt on fast and furious trinkets. If you look closely at the photos you will notice even the majority of the bolts used to put the engine and tranny together are stainless. Just another detail that I think shows the time and effort that I have put into this car. There is a logical reason to painting the different colors. In the event of a leak it is much easier to tell where it is coming from. But not using that as a defense. I want a motor that when the hood is opened it catches your eye no matter where you look...As for all the areas of the car. This is a project as well as a hobby. This is by no means my only form of transportation. As you seen in the pics I have 5 cars to choose from. The z3 fenders were trashed....Fit like shit. The VIS fenders fit better than stock. E.Honda fair enough defense. no i havent been much into shows. i am about performance first, show last. although on topic of show cars i have seen some show cars that are show winners at events like HOT IMPORT NIGHTS, etc and by no means are their engine bay multiple colours, infact i would drive their cars with pride in a second. a good friend of mine drives a celica that wins Top celica in almost every show he goes into, and other then the fact its an auto, its likely the cleanest car i have seen. my point really is, i think it looks tacky and almost over the top, where i think you could have made it a cleaner look with just one colour, etc. again this is just my opinion and it doesnt count for shit but its an opinion. i do like the fact that you put a good motor in and didnt just go all show, you do have plans for a performance veh. anyways good luck like i said. mjshort18 05-28-2004, 10:33 PM i like it, but i would have chosen another color besides purple. other than that it is sweet!! E Honda 05-28-2004, 10:38 PM The car will not be a trailer queen. It will be driven just like any other car I drive on a day to day basis. But when you look at this car you will be able to see that every aspect of this car was removed, checked, cleaned, detailed and replaced. I bet Fujimo and Horihito did not give any of the millions of hondas sold this kind of treatement. And as for over the top.......That makes me smile....Exactly what I wanted to hear. ;) As for performance......The car will have more than it share of performance goodies... Cam pulleys, Supercharger, Laptop with complete mapping system, Zex wet system, the usual ignition mods. Nothing will be overlooked...Trying to find some Brembo 4 or 6 piston caliper that bolt into a stock location. If not I may adapt some dual calipers on the rear.....I dont think I will have any trouble passing anything on the highways..lol.. E.Honda.... D[X]P 05-29-2004, 12:29 AM you certanly got a lot of time on your hands... jameskersten 05-29-2004, 12:48 PM As for performance......The car will have more than it share of performance goodies... E.Honda.... the laptop with complete mapping system jsut makes me laugh and think of teh fast and the furius. what system you gonna run, just for curiosity sakes.? edman24 05-29-2004, 02:51 PM the laptop with complete mapping system jsut makes me laugh and think of teh fast and the furius. what system you gonna run, just for curiosity sakes.? not just that but will you really need that setup? is the motor built at all? i hope so. oh and doesnt the brake caliper and motor color scheme remind you guys of the eighties? neon purple and green? other than the colors on those parts it will be a nice show car but you will have trouble winning too much considering everyone and their mom has an EG coupe for show. and most have a lot more work on them than you do. jameskersten 05-29-2004, 03:02 PM not just that but will you really need that setup? is the motor built at all? i hope so. oh and doesnt the brake caliper and motor color scheme remind you guys of the eighties? neon purple and green? other than the colors on those parts it will be a nice show car but you will have trouble winning too much considering everyone and their mom has an EG coupe for show. and most have a lot more work on them than you do. couldnt agree more. my thoughts are sure he spend lots of time and money painting everything but do you think judges are gonna like it? i wouldnt. E Honda 05-29-2004, 06:37 PM Well thats why you are a critic and not a judge.......And after your fast and furious comment I will dismiss you as a decent critic. As for the fuel system I have been looking at the Tec3 system. Since you are a F&F nut I kinda doubt you know much about it.....But for your reading pleasure I will drop a link here for you..... The motor will be getting a supercharger, zex wet system, cams etc...Tec3 (http://www.getfuelinjected.com/products/tec3.html) Would love to see the critics rides......But it seems they have more time to be on the net then to improve upon their cars. And as for jameskersten ......You must like what you see because you sure look at it alot.....:)......And the calipers will change as soon as I find the brembos I want. And for the fellas comment about people with alot more work in their car than mine.......keep in mind that the car is not even close to being done......... :evillol: <evil laugh> :evillol: I have built and shown VW GTI.(which was featured in lowrider mag back in the late 80's) Mustangs, vettes, trucks and I would feel safe in saying there are alot of them as well.......But it would be no fun if it was not always a challenge. E.Honda. schecter 05-29-2004, 07:25 PM well i gotta agree i am not a big fan of the engine colors, however u are going for sho and it will deffinately be eye catching gotta tell u VERY ORIGINAL that will get u points with the judges even if they dont like the colors i am really liking the bodykit u got on there, i think once u get it painted its gonna be sittin right bro props on the attention to detail comin from another guy who loves the exterior as much as wuts under the hood. so good luck with the shows man post pics of the finished product or email them to me E Honda 05-29-2004, 08:22 PM Thank you Sir........ I think that each individual that builds their own car should do it the way they see that it expresses them. And the colors are very eye catching....I have not heard a single negative from anyone in the city I live in. I will continue posting up pics of the progress on a regualar basis. But everyone has an opinion and the negatives only make me work harder.......So keep the comments coming. Thanks everyone. E.Honda. i either like it a lot, or think is god ugly. you decide since you are building it for yourself anyways. i am a critic not a judge but what are most judges in these shows? the F&F comment was kind of a joke dude, relax. i just thought about the movie where he is racing and watching his laptop at the same time. funny shit. as for your fuel comment and my lack of knowledge, i do know my stuff about tuning but more in the hondata area. i believe in their system far more then anyone else for the money. we each have our own opinions. the the comment about building our own cars. honestly i work at a honda dealership working on cars 40+hrs a week, so i work on many cars, its kinda nice not to work on a car every minute of your life like the weekends or evenings. some people do it, and burn them selves out of cars. i love cars and love working on them more so i dont want to risk ruining it. plus my gf gets mad if i spend too much time on my own car. i have many things sitting on my bench at work waiting to install, mostly motor shit but.... again i have my reasons why i havent yet. anyways good luck with your ride. you have proven to me that you are happy with your style which means more to me then how fast you can make it. E Honda 05-29-2004, 10:11 PM What me relax?.......I am mellow and yellow jello E Honda 05-29-2004, 10:15 PM Ok a question for you......Since you know the honda. b16a2 with dc header, act light weight flywheel, cold air intake, vortec supercharger (running say 10 lbs) and a zex wet system with the norm cam gears and ignition mods.......bhp?......rwhp?..... jameskersten 05-29-2004, 10:33 PM are you asking me for an honest response or trying to prove me wrong? either way. rwhp? um i hope you meant real wheel hp not rear wheel hp. i am sure you know the answer. as for your mods? i would say somewhere near 300whp. hard to say wihtout knowing what SC very well. i am not very familier with vortec, i know of them and very little more then that. the jackson racing supercharger at 10psi on a b18c1 with hondata s200, 450cc injectors, and basic intake and dc headers and full exhaust, netted 286whp. impressive in my opinion, which a zex wet kit, it would push it over 300whp for sure, i wouldnt expect a b16 to be much less. E Honda 05-29-2004, 11:56 PM I was looking for rwhp.......Horsepower to the wheels......LOL.......Actually it should be fwhp....Anyway power at the wheel....And no I did no math to check the power.....does not really matter as I am not building to race on a reg basis. Was more curious than anything. E Honda 05-30-2004, 04:05 AM Heres another hobby of mine.....Just on a smaller scale...Capable of 80 plus miles per hour near 5hp.....4 wheel drive, disk brake, 22 inches wide. I have built these for nascar racers who say they run em in the infield while at the track. I did one of these fully polished for a member of Jack Roush's team and he had a harder time driving this than a nascar car. :grinno: Is that right? "NASCAR CAR"?....Or is it just "NASCAR"? Anyway just thought it be interesting to share...lol. Check this out. (http://www.t-maxx-central.com/home.htm) Does anyone have any goodies I am overlooking for my Honda?........I am always open to a good deal. Things I am looking for right now. Supercharger.....And assoctiated parts...re: fuel fump, injectors so on. LSD for a gsr 5 spd tranny Some Brembo calipers....Anyone know the stock caliper measurement from the center of the mounting holes? I have already put on a new Tenzo brake kit and would prefer to keep them. Zex wet nitrous system.... DVD SYSTEM...... CAR AUDIO EQUIPMENT.....Up for anything nice..... Or anything you might think I can use. 93 honda civic 2 door coupe b16a w/5spd gsr tranny E.Honda vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
